I have the hks suction intake, were the air fillter mounts behind the front bummper!

I have a C-west front bummper on my car too and the air fillter mounts just behind the vent on the driver's side!

On removing my front bummper yesterday i see the air fillter is a mushroom fillter but inside i case and a hole in the top were the stock fillter mounts! could anyone explan why it is inside a case?

In my thinking this case is restrictive. With the hole in the top of the case leading into the engine bay, surely the air in the engine bay would be warm! If the filler is behind a vet on the front bummper were cold air is running into it all the time, why have a case round it? :angry2:

surely removing the case and exposing the fillter to more cold air would be better?????????????? :nice::clap:

ahhhhh, I know what he is talking about....

Thats the same as how the stock intake is set up, it makes a loop down from the box and runs up into that corner right? If so, thats stock intake cinfiguration. shouldn't worry too much, the pipes look bigger than stock and being metal it has smoother surface
