how many liters would I need to put back for an EK9?

I have read some post about doing this and they say you
should put in a 50/50 mix of coolant and water but can't find
out how many liters that would be.

pls help.

thanks :)

what i do is fill the rad till its full, half fill the resovoir and start the engine. wen engine heats up and fan starts to kick in, the coolant level in the rad will drop , top it up and keep an eye on it for few mins. if it drops again top it off. Fill the resovoir to max level, put on rad cap and take the car for a drive. come back check coolant level, if neccessary top it up again and it shud be ok then

thanks for the reply.
But how many liters of anti freeze do you mix with the water?
if they say a 50/50 mix.

According to Saint Matt who offers a mechanics serivce on the forum he has suggested to use 2 litres of undiluted coolant then top up with water.

hope this helps!

either that or use type 2 coolant from honda . around £16 from honda for 5 litres

Honda in South Africa - for their make coolant will cost about
£50 for 5 litres :nerv:
they sell it at £10 per litres.

am going to be using the Castrol Antifreeze SF, a little cheaper and
Honda here using it as well.

I know this is a dead post but everytime I see this comment I question it. In my owners manual it says 4.3 of premixed honda coolant, 4 liters in the cooling system and .3 in the reserve. Pouring 2 liters undiluted then topping off with water is not the best method. Using premix is the best, then just fill till it's full.

If you can not get premixed then get a container that is 2 liters or larger (4 would be best to save time), 3 x 1 liter undiluted coolant bottles. One at a time pour 1 whole bottle of coolant in the larger container then fill up that same bottle with distilled water (not tap water, as it contains leads and minerals that will cause corrosion). Then pour the distilled water in the larger container, now you have 2 liters of perfect 50/50 mix. Pour it in the radiator then do it again for 2 more liters.
