hello, i have just fitted an aftermarket steering wheel. now obviously i have had to disconnect the airbag which has now put the srs warning light on. could anyone tell me what resistor i would need to install to turn the light off ?

hope someone can help cheers

you cant just take the bulb out. you would have to disconnect the srs plug from behind the gauge cluster. if you want to do it properly then you would need an adapter plug first which you then plug in your resistor. i have a spare plug so pm me if your interested.

yes i dont want to just take the bulb out. so can i not just put a resistor in between the two wires ? i dont quiet understand what you mean about the plug ?

You need to buy a resistor so you should put up a wanted thread for one lad.. And you plug that into the yellow connection under your dash that was going to you steering wheel air bag. This will complete the circuit and fool the system. But your srs light will still be on so you then need to reset it.. Its a yellow connection that goes into the fuse box under the dash. All you need for this is a paper clip. Once you find the connection follow this video. Worked for me 1st time but some people say it could take a few turns.

jesus thats fair gd! but will that just restet the light once or will the srs light turn on for 2 seconds everytime you start the car and turn back off??

Once you have the resistor in place the system will just think that there is still an airbag. So the srs light will come on when you start the car and then go out the same as it was when you had an airbag

thanks for your help. i am not looking to buy one otherwise i would of set up a want to buy thread. i am simply asking what resistor do i need (what rating resistor). cheers

A 2.2 ohm I think does the trick.
Should cost you pence from Maplin.

Oh sorry lad. Yea I read a 2.2 ohm works but also read somewhere honda use a 2.0 ohm.

great :) thanks guys i will give them a go.

appreciate your help.

i have tried the 2.2ohm resistor and it didnt work. i reset the srs system too a few times but the light just keeps coming back on. any one know oh any other rating resistors that might work ?
