The 9
Hi Folks,
Firstly hello as new to the forum!

History - my lad bought an EK4 a few months ago and always raved on about the EK9.....I didn't know anything about them!. Anyway I took his car out for a spin and loved it - reminded me of my driving all those years ago when I first passed my test (although the cars weren't quite the same back then...)
Anyway, I've been a trackday rider (yes two wheels) for the last 10 years and this has basically spoilt road riding on a big bike so I wanted to get something to replace the road riding bit......then I started to listen to my lad....read the EVO magazine right up on the EK9 and decided to get one!

So here goes........thought I would post some pics. Its being loaded soon and will be here in Sept all being well :))

I have sneaky suspicion it might be part of a grand plan.....either he inherits it or buys it off me when he's earning enough!:gav:

Looks super clean! :nice:

Soon as you get it home, underseal it and preserve that chassis. Not many that clean around these days.

How much did this set you back including shipping etc? If you don't mind me asking

Lewis's dad? Welcome to the forum & Nice 9. Great Find. Now the wait...you will not be disappointed mate :)

If you seached, bid and shipped by yourself you could do it cheaper I reckon, but you will have no 'eyes' in Japan and more work on your hands from what if figured with the process.
I would suggest you use a reputable importer, you will pay more but you have some security and no hassle with arranging shipping, paying import tax, mot, registering, undersealing, etc etc, suggest you look at Torque GT website and the auction section to see what kind of money these cars are being brought in for, shipped etc and on the road. As with any auction the price can be higher or lower on the night!

Yep...I'll get used to this...lol
glad to see you are on the forum Miah :))

Looks very clean, if you want to keep it that way then you want to get this thing thoroughly cavity waxed in every gap, behind every trim, bumpers off, arch liners out, skirts off. Get it in around the tank and arch lips, fuel filler neck, get the interior out etc etc.

The quick blow over with body schutz that torque gt will give it will protect **** all

^^

Exactly, don't skmip on the underseal. Would be such a shame to see that fall apart due to our wonderful wheather.

Plenty of people have made underseal threads, me included, so you can see step by stap instructions on what to do :nice:

Hi Ryan and B16 mini, many thanks for this solid piece of advice .......I will take a look at the underseal threads and I think its definitely a must. I don't intend on using the car through the winter but garage space is tight so she might be on the drive!

I guess its on the threads but what is the best product to seal with and how long do you think the whole job done correctly would take? thanks:nice:
