ATS final drive/gearbox help required

basically i have a ATS 4.9 final drive

when buying this i was told it will fit any box as long as it has a
ITR LSD

so i had a s9b gearbox, and i just found out that the final drive does not fit, i was going to put a 98spec 1st and a m factory 3rd in they didnt fit the s9b either as they where from a s80??

i was told this was due to the input shaft,

after reading up about the final drive kit i found that it fits a s4c or a s80 type r box

so i bourght (or buying) a dismamteld s4c from a ek9

now i have 2 questions

1) are s80 and s4c gear interchangable
2) does a ITR LSD fit a EK9 s4c gearbox

im soo confused at the moment :angry2:

any help would be greatly appricated

1) more or less yes
2) you will change also final gear, 1st gear and its countershaft, bearing and its bearing retainer

whats the price going to be on that dude? mileage etc??

so the gear are interchangeable? basically i want to put a ITR 1st and 3rd in the s4c

so for the LSD i need to final drive??, 1st and the countershaft? i dont understand?
 
Sorry, I was thinking that you have a ek4 gearbox, not ek9. I would do the same work on my car.

I think for ek9 gearbox LSD could be interchangeble.
For 1st and 3rd gear i think you must change also the countershaft...
 
Gearbox's are interchangable, I've got a S80 box in my ek9 :nice:

Well they are about £800 new so was thinking £380. Will come complete with bolts, taper bearings and spacers, speedo drive gear.

im still confused?

does an LSD from a ITR fit a S4C EK9 gearbox????

any help appricated

Yes i just fitted one myself. I did keep the original ek9 crown wheel thouogh.

Keep ctr factory 2nd for shorter, and stock 5th ;)
also change carbon synchros.
