As some of you may know, I'm looking to start a funding project on Kickstarter soon so that I can turn my 'engineered art' products from a 'nice but expensive' idea into an actual viable product.

I'm looking to launch this late March but before then I need a big contact list of blogs to approach and ask them to help with promoting the project. I need exposure to a large amount of people in a short amount of time when the project is live so need to start contacting people now, especially as I appreciate many of them may not reply.

Every person reached helps so it doesn't matter if a blog/site has 100 or 100,000 followers, what I am looking for is a broad range of blogs and writers to contact spanning across a wide range of marques.

So, if you're subscribed to an automotive / tuning blog, or are aware of one that might be suitable, I'd love to hear about it!

Thanks in advance! :nice:

Try the chronicles and speedhunters? What about youtube and /drive? pistonheads?

I read my first blog the other day. So i have no clue who to go to lol.

Yep found those last night.

Luckily one of my mates is a blog whore and has followed hundreds of them on facebook so I've been going through his list and following them too.

Got about 65 so far with an average of about 40k followers. Should be a decent amount of exposure if they are willing to help!

That's only about a 1/3rd of the way through my mates list too. :D

Well, this is proving fruitless. Most places just delete posts and don't reply to emails. Guess that's to be expected.

What it's looking like now, is to get the exposure I need, I need to front up about £5k in advertising fees with actual printed magazines, but with no guarantee of a single penny in return.

Think I might just have to admit this probably isn't going to work.

Made a thread on pistonheads? Thats where the more "funded" car fans hang out. Also there usually very useful, maybe some one could offer sum advice.

Ebay, gumtree, pistonheads classifieds are an option? I know not ideal

Nope, all rules against advertising.

eBay gumtree etc not really suitable.

Love it, my post even got removed from the EK9.org facebook page.

This is impossible.

Who runs the facebook page? Do you have your own FB page that members could share to their timeline?

Indeed I do, but I appreciate that getting shares is sometimes difficult. I know I am guilty of not doing it on occasion.

Luckily, a publishing company that deals in BMW magazines has emailed back today stating that they'll run a feature on it. Not feeling quite so deflated now and they've actually provided me with an alternative approach.

Keep at it mste. Your hard work will pay off. Maybe classic car magazines , vintage car clubs etc. The kind of reader usually appreciated engineering and have money to spend. Compared to the average "max power" readet

A little tip with magazines - let them know that you are interested in advertising, but wait right up until their 'deadline' for going to print and then push it a few days more. You'll be amazed at how cheap they are willing to give advertising space away when it comes to needing to fill space.

Right here's an advert I just threw together quickly.

Any comments?

Too much info, too little, bad layout? Would it catch your attention in a magazine?

Too much information, the title and the car sketch is catchy but after that looks dull, boring and too much writing. Just my opinion.

Yea I know, trouble is how else do you explain the product in such a small area?
