Hello guys,

I have a very big doubt. How mutch power can handle stock sleeves?
I'v seen A LOT of people on internet saying that his car made 300-350-400-450 and even 500whp with stock sleeves.
In evans-tuning parts-chart it say that stock sleeves can handle up to 400whp.
But here in my circle of acquaintances there were 4 b16 with cracked sleeves, 2 of then with just 280whp, another one with 330whp and another with 420whp. Other people in my country experienced cracks with 300whp+

I am now with 270whp@9psi, and very afraid to boost it up.
So... is there any secret? or it is just matter of LIFE-TIME?

what causes crack sleeve? detonation? or there are another thing?

I've been running 400 for nearly 2 years now without any problems and in the process of making more !
As been said , all in mapping really .

There is no set in stone as to what the limits of stock sleeves are but if the engine is suffering from detonation under load it's only a matter of time before something gives. We pushed 411bhp on a stock b18c4 recently, so far it's holding up well.

I ran 15psi with a gt30r making 400whp with just a block guard and never had an issue for over 3yrs.

GT3076R stock sleeves 12psi 333whp no problems. Just keep it under 400whp.
