hi guys i know this question has been asked alot but what ecu would i need? i have also been told if i use a jdm ecu i would have to put a wire in for a knock sensor can any one help me on this? thanks phil

Your going to be using a EK4 loom which will have wiring for knock sensor anyway so that's not a problem. You will want to get a ecu from jap import EK4 as they don't contain a immobiliser like the UK version does.

You could but those ecu's wouldn't be right to use on a b16a as they have different fuelling and ignition requirements.

No once you get the correct engine loom it will connect with your dash loom(green plug) If your EJ9 is prefacelift 96-98 then you need a obd2a vtec engine loom or if facelift model 99-00 you need obd2b vtec engine loom

the wiring loom im getting with the engine is obd1 and my cars a facelift. So i take it i would need one or is it better to get a obd2b engine loom?

You will have to get a obd2b loom from either a EK4 or a EK9 loom can be used. The obd1 engine loom won't work in your car.
