Alright guys, this has probably been covered alot before, if it has my bad! Anyway, im currently driving a Jordan and want to keep the B16a2 engine and see what sort of power I can get out of it, im not talking stupid figures but something around 190-200hp. I want to keep it N/A so any ideas? Currently running a custom B pipe, spoon n1 and whales p***s intake, will be looking at getting a header next and from there what should be the next approach? Was looking at the jaccs EG6, I know its a different engine being a B16a but thats running 230hp  any advice would be appreciated, thanks :nice:

Can I ask why you want to keep the B16? It's just the power figures you are looking at are standard B18c figures. You would be spending a lot of money and loose that precious Honda reliability getting the B16 up to that sort of power, when a simple B18c swap will give you the same numbers, keep the reliability, save yourself the headache, and have more potential if you decide to up the power in the future.

Everyone does engine swaps, id just like to keep the original engine plus I dont have anywhere to start taking engines in and out. Id rather be different and try and stick with what the car came with.

you'll be lucky to hit 190hp with bolt ons & ctr cams

Header is a good start, Toda or Tegiwa if you want to keep it affordable.
You already have a big tube intake so a 68mm throttle body and portmatched intake manifold would help you a little further as well.

With a good tune you should get around 190bhp. If you want over 200bhp I'd recommend getting aftermarket cams, nothing too crazy if you don't want to change the internals. Spoon, Skunk2, Buddy Club...

Skunk2 or itr intake
Itr or ek9 cams
Aem v2 or any other good intake
Good exhaust manifold
Good exhaust system
Mappable ECU

Good mapper

As mentioned above you'd be spending alot of money to get those figures. My old man built his hillclimb/sprint EK4 with the following spec and was estimated 190bhp

B16a2
B18cr head skimmed ported and polished
Ek9 cams
Skunk2 intake mani 68mm throttle body
Aem V2 intake
EP3 injectors modded to fit
Aem fuel rail
4-2-1 mani, de cat, tune R stainless exhaust
Piggybacked ECU running Crome with launch control and vtec cut in at 4750rpm

Safe to say was pretty beasty!

Manifold £5-400
Decent exhaust £300+
Dc2 cams £200
Valves etc £100
Intake/tb £350+

It's a lot of money just to have pub talk bhp numbers.

Much cheaper to go down the route of final drive or gear ratios for proven acceleration.

Also worth considering how healthy your b16 is ? There's no point throwing a ton of money into it if it is possibly needing a rebuild soon.

If you go down the gear box mods route it's easier to just remove the box if you decide to sell the car on as you won't get much extra if anything for a the mods listed above.

Pretty much exactly what I've got and I got 196 at the fly in my coupe :nice:
Henry is a god
