Nearly completed my conversion, ill list spec if anyone interested, oh just to say what a car the ek9 is, anywho does anyone know the timing degrees for an ek9?
the vti/si ba6a2 is 16degrees, what is the ek9? need to know as have ek9 cams and head. is the si distributor the same as ek9? im using a ek4 distributor.

thanks

ps vti is irish si.....(",)

I'm 80 % sure its 16 degrees, i will find out tomorrow for you with the mechanic!

Just for you to know, the normal ek b16a civics, have 38 psi of fuel pressure. The EK9 b16b has 46 psi factory default! keep in mind this. You should buy a fuel pressure gauge just to be sure youre getting enough fuel :)

thanks thats cool to know, actually im running a ek9 fuel rail, injectors and an itr pressure regulator. i also have an vafc just to tidy up the fueling so think ill be safe enough. (hopeing ek4 fuel pump can keep up!!)

Just while ur there to is there anything else to note?
u seem to know the ek9 more than me......

what im doing

b16b head(everythin!!)
b18c5 inlet manifold (fueling as above)
spoon p73-00 pistons (i know wont fit but i have my reasons(",))
ctr cat back
itr98 spec 4-1 manifold and j's racing decat
itr flywheel
itr clutch

Hello, i'just came back from the mechanic.

Its correct 16 degrees has my car factory default.

What you plan to do is ok, don't put a light weight flywheel, it's not recommended. ITR flywheel is ok.

What final drive you got? 4.40 ? I personally recomend you put a 4.78 ITR 98 spec final drive, the change is from night to day, i did that, and by far, is the best modification i've done to the b16b.

i dont think the itr final drive will fit? there diff differentials so persume diff final drives, ive a 4.40, and can easily get a itr 4.7 if itl fit, told it wouldnt.

they are necessary

b16b or b18c head
b16b or b18c/5-6 inlet mainfold
b16b or b18c/5-6 trottle body (or aftermarket, spoon and others)
advised cat-back of 2.5" of any it marks of optimal construction
headers mainfold for b18c/5-6 of 2.25 of any it marks of optimal construction
b16b or b18c flywheel
b16b or b18c clutch

the rest (pistons, connecting rods and drive shaft) leaves them stock the maximum makes to lighten them we to balance

I would advise then final drive 4.785(itr 98 spec)that it needs however (like the 4,4) of LSD EK9-ITR otherwise it is not possible to mount it in gearbox of ek4

the fuel pump and distributor ek4 they go very well

obviously an optimal Ecu is indispensable or can be pleased of the stock ek9

is the b16b throttle body not the same as the b16a?? size wise?

aslo reason going for p73-00 spoon pistons is that the coating they provide and additional cp ~= 10.7:1 when done

kinda confused what u ment by ur post, do u mean thay are good modds?

if so what additional power and where it is located will i expect to see

sorry trottle body only b18c

b18c 67 MMØ
b16b 62 MMØ
b16a2 62 MMØ

for the piston the coating is only a detail, one fineness, that it renders them the little most resistant, but also the stocks b16a2 resist very well
and for to increase the RC are sufficient to use Head Gasket Spoonsports or mugen

very goods modds

a my friend with a setup similar obtained approximately 193 cv

in more it has:
airbox mugen
trottle body spoon 70Ø

Does the b18c throttle body fits on the b16b?

sure:)

every trottle body for B-series is interchanging

when I had the b16a2 I mounted the trottle body SPOON of 70Ø for b18c, that I have then mounted on the b18c6

advised the trottle body b18c worked and polished

sorry for my always bad english

thanks very helpfull, will look out for an ecu, spoon is expensive but think worth it seen them in action already so impressed,if im broke might have to stick with ek9 one for a little,

conversion nearly done cons were milled and pistons going in tonite, if any one interested ill post results after bedded in.

does anyone know the ek9110 oem sparkplug code, thre ngk but told same as b16a2 but i thought they had a higher heat rating??

the honda code for the type r spark plug is:

NGK - BCPR7E-11

You're so lucky, i found the spark plug box on the trash can! lol

good luck
