Hello brothers in Cars :)
As I have promised, here is my project. Excuse my English I am Bosnian. Administrators please move this topic if not in proper place.

I have bought Honda CRX, ED9, with D16Z5 engine. As first my 402 time was 16.8 sec. Deam. After a while I had best run 15.5 without any modification on engine or fuel system, just exhaust, intake and suspension.

I have never seen VTEC engine until I met CIVIC EE9 on the street. He pass me like my engine was broke. So I have been working for VTEC engine using this list:

B16 1.6 16V DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1595 158hp@7600rpm 112tq@7000rpm 90-93 Integra XSi/RSi
B16A 1.6 16V DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1595 160hp@7800rpm 111tq@7300rpm 89-91 Civic SiR
B16A 1.6 16V DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1595 170hp@7800rpm 116tq@7300rpm 92-95 Civic
B16A1 1.6 16V DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1595 160hp@7600rpm 111tq@5200rpm 90-91 Civic/CRX SiR
B16A2 1.6 16V DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1595 160hp@7600rpm 111tq@7000rpm 99-00 Civic Si
B16A3 1.6 16V DOHC VTEC PGM-F I 1595 160hp@7600rpm 111tq@7000rpm 93-94 DelSol VTEC
B16A4 1.6 16V DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1595 170hp@7800rpm 113@7100rpm 96-00 Civic Si-RII
B16B 1.6 16V DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1595 185hp@8200rpm 118tq@7500 98-01 Civic Type-R

I have bought the last one B16B ! eeeeeeee

So the old engine should be taken out of engine bay.
The process is easy:

Take out battery, cables, cold air intake, radiator, water tank, lights, climate compressor was already taken off, hood, axles, wheels, well just about all :)

Beside engine I got engine wiring but it was cut off, original ECU (PCT - J11). Problem was also with axles. I have been told that they suit into knockle hub but it was part truth. They can be used without protection ring, but you might have problem later with dust entering into baring. What we have find out is that we can keep outer join from D16Z5 and inner join (goes into transmission) with B16B axle. On the picture above there are three axles which look just the same, but they are not just because of joins. Hight and width of axles are the same though. Axles from 90 - 93 Integras are just fine also.

Engine is out and we had to work on suspension and engine bay. Front bridge must be cut to make room for exhaust header. We cut 5 x 10 cm and that was just fine. I got Eibach springs and Kayaba shocks. At the time I was waiting to receive HaSport mounts. I was very risky to make them.

normal_image020.jpg

I received EFB2 kit with clutch conversion. CRX has cable and Civic Ek9 has hidraulic.

You could by from AVID (AVID Hydraulic Engine Motor Mount Honda Civic ACMM001H) but they don't send for Bosnia. I have found lots of cheap parts watching at ebay auctions but some people does not want to send the parts here even if you offer double more money for shipment. S4C transmission has Helical LSD - Limited Slip Differential and I hope it will be useful for me.

When trying to place the new engine I fount problem with mounts. I got three mounts. We have put engine into engine bay and found out that these mounts does not suit to mounts on the B16B engine. Actually they turn engine into very unusual setup.

normal_image026.jpg

Only mount that was ok was on transmision side. I called HaSport and they said that I they mounts should be combined with Integras 90 - 93. ****!!! HaSport does not send to Bosnia too. I called Andy and he ordered and send me those:
1. EFLB - left
2. EFRBHY – rear

Had to wait for new parts and used that time to clean my honda. Also I could not close the hood and had to cut it. Some how, in place with 10 Hondas i found hood from CRX VTEC and had to invert it. I needed 2 cm or 1 inch to make it higher. Block of B16A is 263 mm and B16B 270 mm. Starter could not fit in and I took big hammer. Hit on the left side of car. I needed 2 cm to make rotation possible.

To prepare the hood was project it self. I have cut it, then melt it, then used fiber to close it. I did not care any more how nice will turn out.

Still my mounts were not here (traveling from USA to Bosnia is full of checking) and since I was working with fiber I decide to make bumper. Well, first molding then bumper.

Cleaned everything and measurment of kilometers is turned to 0000000 :)

Got my mounts. :)

Put the engine. Another problem. Shift linkage are to big and again cuting.

I did not have exhaust and left pipes from old CRX. 50 mm at most.

Wiring

I know that people are putting B16b into CRX, even doing turbo but electrical wiring scheme does not exist. There are lots of pictures but not complete picture so here it is. RVM THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR PICTURES I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FINISH IT WITHOUT YOU. I have to mention Frederic from Quibec - Thank you.

CRX is OBD0 and uses PM7 (civic, crx si dohc zc) ECU. It is only JDM without VTEC. Beside there is:
1. PR3 civic/crx SiR & Integra Xsi/Rsi Dohc VTEC (B16A)
2. PW0 civic/crx SiR & Integra Xsi/Rsi Dohc VTEC (B16A)

CRX wiring closes circle with 4 connectors and this is linkage between sensors and main wiring. 3 connectors are on the right side beside fuses. One is on the left side. Disconnect them. Now all sensors can be removed. This is old wiring.

normal_image051.jpg

normal_image052.jpg

Engine came with cuted OBD2b wiring with RHD.

OBD-2b JDM exists, and i needed one on the left side:
• P2T civic Si coupe (B16A)
• PCT civic Type-R (EK9/B16B)
• P73 Integra Type-R (B18C)
• PCB prelude Type-S
• PCX S2000 (F20C)
• PRB A01-A05 RSX Type-S (US)
• PRC RSX Type-R (JDM)
• PRD Civic Type-R (JDM)

ECU wiring was right side. I bought P2T from Civic SI coupe that comes with B16A2. I had to find out what to buy :) This wiring leaves minimum place for error. I had 3 wires extra becouse B16b has one sensor less than B16A2 or two.

Andrew Obermiller told me to combine main crx wiring with civic engine wiring. THANKS mate!
2B has only A, B, C connectors active and Green one with very special role. 2A has A, B, D and Green.

normal_image054.jpg

RVM sent me pictures of wires and I did checking.

image068.gif

Had three wires extra.

normal_InstalacijaKoncept.JPG

JDM engine comes without VTP sensor.

First power supply. I took main fuse box connector C213 which gives three wires.

image071.gif

Rest of very important connectors on CRX are:
1. C153/C121
2. C151/C210
3. C152/C211
4. C175/C313
5. C312

All sensors are going directly to ECU. What I needed was grounding and power suply solved. We need PGMFI schema for CRX wiht catalisator. Grounding goes over C151.

image073.gif

PGMFI relay has power suply scheme exactly the same as Civic. Relay takes power from key IGN and supply ECU, injectors and rest of relays. Second relay has 2 sec of power and then turns the fuel pump. Diference is color of wires.

normal_image074.jpg

image077.gif

As for pump, there is signal which goes to ecu FLR - A16.

image078.gif

image081.gif

normal_image079.jpg

These cables have to map with cables of new engine. Cables of new engine has only one connector which acts as input to sensors and end with connectors A,B,C and Green one.

image084.gif

Important Civic Connectors are:

normal_image087.png

image091.png

Red circles mark the wires which are used only by B16B.

image093.png

image095.png

Second most important thing is radiator. Scheme is almost the same. There is one wire that goes to ECU.

image097.png

New engine looks good :)

image099.jpg

Now it works. But not yet finished. Had to work more to earn more.

I had to make exhaust new. T304 material. 70 mm pipe. Tenzo.

Then I got married, and got this:

UlatraLagera 15" - also got this. :)

normal_UltraLagera.jpg

And still working...

I forgot to tell that before I put new exhaust and wheels I went to Croatia, Varazdin 550 km to see performance.

They recognized piece of JDM machinery :)
