Facelift EK9
Been meaning to post something for a while, first post!
After being into Honda's for some time, having had an EE9 and EK4 previous I decided to buy my dream car. Facelift EK9 in champ white. The car was bought a good while ago now, from Ben at RPerformance in Plymouth (I live in the north of scotland!!). Rolling shell in very good condition, not a hint of rust being a Torque GT 2015 import. Here is a photo of the car (Will upload a load more another day!)

Have a good amount of parts on the way for it and a few bits here for it already including a B18C & rebuilt S80 with a Spoon Sports plated diff. And a pair of EK9 recaros as unfortunately the car came without the seats and yet to get a carpet and door cards as these did not come with the rolling shell either.

Will post an update when I'm at the shed where the car is stored and post more photos of the car and the parts I have.

Won't let me post seats as file is too big but I'm sure everyone on here has seen a set of ek9/dc2 red recaros before lol.

Gah i've been wanting one of those exhaust for mine after seeing a youtube vid of a guy hooning in the mountains of Japan in his EK9. So damn expensive haha!

Is that a carbon bonnet or a black one?

Had it on my ek4 and sounded amazing, can't wait to hear it on the b18c! Bonnet is a carbon spoon sports gen 1 mate.

Went over to the shed today, car is tucked up in a corner but took a few photos of it and here they are.

Been under a cover in a barn for the last 6 months while work has been going on in the shed, including a 2 post ramp which is ideal! Car needs a good clean. Below is a few photos of some of the parts I have for it, awaiting a big order coming in from Tegiwa.

A few dress up bits that came with engine, unsure ifI'll use them but the new manifold studs and nuts will get used.

Battlecraft hyper teardrop gear knob and K-tuned short shifter. Will keep the gear knob and use shifter for the moment but will be getting the new Hybrid Racing B-series shifter.

Also have an AEM wideband, HEL braided clutch line but photos wouldn't upload, annoying. Will post another update once bits from tegiwa arrive!!

Stunning car mate, Jealous of the Spoon bonnet. Suits a Championship white civic down to the ground

Update time, got the B18C out of the crate it was being stored in and gearbox off and engine onto the engine stand ready for a full strip down. Reason being, the engine was bought as a good running, healthy and strong engine however using a bit of oil (stem seals) no surprise there. However this being my dream Honda build I thought why not strip down and do it right. The engine is on 160k anyway. Here are a few pics of the strip down process.

With the clutch and flywheel (believe it's a fidenza lightweight flywheel). There is some excessive heat damage on the pressure plate and flywheel. So plan is a new clutch, probably stage 1 exedy or something similar and get the flywheel resurfaced.

Clutch isn't terrible, seen much worse but rather replace with a new unit. With gearbox removed I gave it the best clean before prep for paint, planning to get this done soon.

Quite happy with everything inside considering mileage. Took the morosso baffled sump off too but no photos, has a dent in the bottom so will replace this. Plan is to strip bottom end next, get pistons and crank out etc really to start measuring tolerances for new bearings and start to gather parts for engine build. Bottom end will be built with ARP fasteners all round and ACL or Kings bearings. New head gasket, new OE genuine oil pump. Also going to fit new piston rings. Plan for the cylinder head is OE or supertech valve seals, supertech valve springs and titanium retainers and a set of stage 1 skunk2 cams.

Any comments welcome!!

Good work mate I’ve got some spare oem stem seals if you end up going oem
