b20 turbo ek9....bare shell up

you painted the cage with the exterior already being painted ?

Awsome i want to fit a 16 point cage to mine but do not want to flipping respray the hole shell. thaught i could widdle it some how but seeing that you've done it gives me even more confidence of doing it :D

So awesome man, hats off to you, the amount of time a project like this uses is immense. So far I love everything bar the red bottom end.

I noticed that you have run copper lines from your master cylinder away to the wing. Have you relocated the distributor?

Awesome looking lad fair play, your mates DC2 is class aswell does he race it?

Sorry guys been busy with uni work and a few other bits and bobs recently so had to put the build on hold but back on it now.

Not done a massive amount recently tbh but here goes :)

Fitted the rear lights, and stripped out all the wiring from the rear harness, i also modified it to allow me to relocate the loom behind the bumper so was out of sight.

Stipped the dash down as much as i can, and lightened the steering column holder and adder some extra brackets to allow me to fix the dash in place.

Started work on a custom centre console for my gauges. Its made some 4mm thick aluminium sheet which i shaped in place to allow it to fit nicely to my dash :)

Which ended up like this

Its not 100% finished ye as i still have some tricks up my sleeve ;)

Modified some ek4 hubs to allow a different brake set up too.

Which fit nicely under my 15" p1's

Got my front suspension in place too. Iv gone for a set of Bilstein b8 dampers which im going to re-valve once i figure exactly how i want them. Basically i need to test the car first to see how its performs.

Also made a full set of polycarbonate windows. Which to be honest didn't save that much weight, but looks the part and wont get covered in glass if i push it to hard ;)

Doors and boot have gone on a diet too ;)

And will be getting some custom door cards too.

I brought some gloss white vinyl wrap for the harness bar to stop my harness rubbing the paint off, and im also going to use it for the door bars to enable me to just wipe them clean.

Finally dropped her onto her wheels for the first time :)

And dont worry the suspension geometry isnt set at all. Infact im pretty sure its got some nice positive accompanied by some negative. Also the B8's are going turned in high adjustable dampers.

This build is awesome. Keep up the good work.

this has to be one of the coolest builds i have ever seen. I can't wait to see the video's of this destroying some tires on the track

Ohh myy dayyysssss... this is one massive money pit.

Would love to build my dc2 from scratch as extensive as this if i could afford to lol.
Keep up the good work, cant wait to see it moving :)

Woot! Awesome!

Quick question, Which Braided Brake line kit did you use? Curious cause I'm states side and want to replace mine, just not sure whether to you USDM ITR, or USDM Civic hatchback version. Or just find someone in the UK to ship them for me haha.

IIRC ITR brake lines are slightly longer than civic ones, so its best off to get the ones that matck your car to prevent any possible snagging on the lines.

Started work on my engine..well a tiny bit anyways.

Measured all my valves to check size and weight, this is to allow my to simulate my engine in wave (ricarido wave) to see how efficient it is to allow pre-tuning before the final tune. Aslo as im designing my own inlet manifold i can perfectly replicate my whole engine in wave to aid me in the design of my manifold.

Aslo started on a front spitter, its only a mock up though :) And check the colour difference form the freshly painted bits to the bumper and wing! they look like there grey.

Great progress mate. One thing though, please use an OEM front lip! The difference between replica and OEM is so obvious :(
