Hi guys! It’s been a while since I came on this forum. Originally I joined in 2006-7 when I had a DC2 Rx NHO and a GF-EK9 NHO, E-EK4 Ferio in Japan. Since 2011 I has sold both all the Hondas and moved on to other JDMs such as GC8, SXE10, SE3P, ST205, JZA70, CN9A, CP9A (V), CT9W, BNR32, BNR34, and so on.

But even with turbo 4WD cars, everytime I saw a Honda especially a clean EK9, something bugged me that I should not have sold mine. After years of contemplation even considering an AP1 or NA1 ( expensive of course) I finally decided to buy a EK9 again. In 2019 prices are now at a premium and finding one for a reasonable sum and condition was not easy. The Japanese market is flooded with prime examples but at prices beginning near ¥1.8 million to ¥2.6 million (especially Y-56 Sunlight Yellow) it was almost and over the cost of the car when new. Something I could not be convinced about. Especially when one could pick up a nice FD2 R for less and is faster, more space and more modern.

I was determined that if I would go back to Honda, I would start (again) with the classic EK9. After a year of searching, I found a Zenki E-EK9 in Vogue Silver Metallic. One owner, no accident repair, full Honda Tokyo dealer service records, most of the drivetrain and suspension and brakes refreshed. Mileage is a little on the high side at 176,000km. But the B16B all stock and no mods runs like clockwork, pulling strongly like before.

I suppose not many people in the market for a classic Type R EK9 are interested in a silver one. And incidentally, the silver is actually the rarest of all the colours.

Going out to Daikoku PA last night I got a few people approaching the car and were surprised that it was a real Type R. No one had known or seen a silver EK9 before.

I do like the idea that it is indeed quite ‘low key’ and a bit sleeper.

Following our pictures that I have at the moment. I will be taking and sharing more after passing vehicle inspection getting my new numberplates.

Also please follow my Instagram account for adventures with me and my crew in Japan.

Wow what a small world sometimes! I know of Drifthunter Albo and Sammit on youtube for a little while now. Me and my brother visited Tokyo for the 1st time in December, and it was awesome! We saw Spoon and Seeker, we tried to go to Tatsumi PA but could not get there. Trip not long enough, only 4days and only public transport :( I hope to visit again very soon. That would be amazing, I will send you a Follow and message you on instagram :)
