ive just bought a baffle sump kit from tegiwa and was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly where the vertical (small) plates go?i looked on their site as they have a pic of the main plate but i cant seem to find pics anywhere of where the two little plates go. i dont know if ive made myself very clear, but i dont fancy fitting them wrong, any help would be appreciated. cheers

Yea that's the one I found on their site mate, but it doesn't show where the smaller plates go that are also included in the kit.

look at the big diameter. half the diameter their is 2 blades sticking up. those are the 2 other your talking about

Yea that's wot I thought but wen I test fitted them it didn't really seem to look like theirs does in the pic, my blades stuck out into the middle of the diameter bit. They just don't seem to do much wen fitted there

this may sound daft but build it up and put a pic up.

helps to see how you have it

you dont need to use the small L brackets at all
they can also cause the oil pan to crack at the weld when fitted
to the outside wall of the pan

best method to fit the baffle is to just weld it to the inner baffles that are there from factory and then there is no chance of leaking due to cracking

Ive fitted a few now with out problems
but I have seen when done with the little brackets , cracks appear and then been asked to repair it

Just remmber to weld just the four corners where the baffle meets the OE baffles
( Not the outer wall of the pan)
also remmber its not a structrual item so small welds to hold it are fine

so when this has been welded/brazed, does the sump need painting/powdercoated again on the inside??

Hell no, no paint inside the sump pan, I don't see how welding a mild steel sump pan will crack it, if it were cast aluminium then I would be a little suspect.

That's what I thought... Just doubley making sure.
Yeah I couldn't figure the cracking bit either, maybe brazing might not put quite as much heat into one tiny spot, not totally sure tho!!!
