Bavarian Bronze EK4

I love the white rims, however they no longer fit due to the BBK in the front . It sucks but you gotta move on.

Lets update this thread a bit.

I'm currently in the process of installing a Wiechers 4 point roll bar I only made a bit of a cock up, I thought that the connecting sleeves would drop into the main tubes but they slide over them, so these need to be painted. So this is how it currently stands

as you can see I'm modifying the interior panels to fit since I don't like the stripped out racer look. (too many wannabee kanjo racers around :) )

I also have a new rear wing on the car. Its a zeal replica (real deal is unfindable or insanely expensive so had to settle for a replica) the spoiler itself is decent but the base plate could've been better. Maybe I'll try and find an oem EK9 wing and switch the base plate before selling it on.

and a small update under the hood, a shaved and colour coded valve cover. looks a lot cleaner than the white one I used to have

Nice updates, valve cover looks better indeed!

Not sure how I feel about the wing though, it looks great but it's like it sits a bit higher than it should?
Any other angles? It's probably the baseplate, I'd definately try and find an oem baseplate.

I think you're right in the fact that it sits to high, I think it should sit about a cm lower to be in line with the roof here is a another picture. It doesn't really bother me yet :p but I Think an oem base plate will happen in the future.

on another note, the roll bar is now fitted completely. was a real hassle doing this on my own and trying to keep the side panels in. so some scratching of the bar has happened unfortunately.
I think the X bar will be sold on. as this is a bit much now. to much junk in the trunk :D

Looking good :)

Car looks great man. That colour with the work wheels is amazing.

I'll buy it if you decide to sell it mate!

a mate of mine is trying to persuade me to switch to the dark side. we fitted his rotas onto my car they are 16x8 ET35 slipstreams with a 215 tire.

I think it looks really good and more modern (a black rim in this size would look even better I think). But I'm a bit hung up on the fact that they are rota's. But real regas are impossible to find in 16x7 let alone 16x8, so this would justify that just a little bit ;).
But I guess I'll just stick with the works for now.

also in this picture is my repainted bumper (had to get rid of 3 years of stone chips and scratches) and my new oem grille

Rota or not, looks mental tbh.
Perfect for track. And if you damage one, it's still just a Rota wheel :))

I think the works will stay, just love a polished lip

Love how the engine bay looks.

speaking of engine bay, I'm going to buy a B18C longblock with 90k to replace the B16 with 270k. At first I wanted to rebuild the B16, because I just love the high pitch scream, but the cost of a rebuild just doesn't compare to the price of this B18C.
I'm thinking of upgrading the cams in the B18C but still have to research this some more. ATM thinking about Skunk2 pro either stage 1 or 2.

let's update a bit here:
following up on the above: I have bought a 96 spec B18C with low miles (said to be 90k but more likely 150k) lifted the head and inspected the bores, all looks to be good. Didn't want to leave it stock and got a good deal here on some cams. So I bought some Skunk2 Pro 1 cams and had the head skimmed 0.4mm, head is also reconditioned. this will be fitted with a performer IM and some AEM bling. In addition the VTI gearbox will be overhauled and fitted with an Mfactory Torsen LSD.
I will swap the motor this winter and will tidy up the bay some what, Not a shaved bay. just weld up some unused holes and repaint it.

The new block is not a moment too soon because oil consumption along the valve seals is really getting bad lately. giving that characteristic Honda smoke on lift off :)

Oh and found a oem EK9 wing which I used the baseplate of so the zeal is no longer held on by a crappy/ flappy replica base.

some pics from HEM in france. Show it and race it :)

The tire lettering was an experiment with water based paint, but I quite like it so it will be made more permanent ;)

Lovely build thread dude, you forgot to mention you've painted the Corsa's Black and they look great in black !! the gold was too close to the colour of the car now they look great !

i really like those 90's style recaro seats, had one in my glanza and loved the colour of it.

really liking this car and you seem to be adding lots of bits here and there as time goes on. Great stuff makes for a good read start to finish :)

Thanks for the kind comments,

yes the corsas have indeed been painted gloss black with a blue pearl (did this a couple of months ago). the gold was too much Subaru :D. I really like them now, but still think they are to heavy ;)

another update I forgot is I changed the brake pads from ferodo ds2500s to Hawk DTC30. Braking power difference and fade resistance is insane. Hawks perform like crazy from a cold block and don't seem to fade. Only downside is they squeal which gets you interesting looks around town :)

Always great fun opening boxes and collecting parts. Just like Christmas:

A B18C in the making :)

Also got an ABS ECU from an EK9 and the difference is really noticeable, its not nearly as restrictive as the EK4 unit. So less brake power is taken out. Letting the hawks and wildwoods work to their full potential.
