Bens White 1996 SiR Del Sol

Very nice car mate, how come you haven't undersealed it?

Cheers lads. Before the summer i intend to jack the car up, remove the suspension to be powder coated and then red oxide and stone guard any areas not already guarded

Well it's coming round to that time to get the car out driving again. Have missed it. But my insurance is sorted and MOT coming up in April so have started taking more interest in the car.
I have finished off the snowflake wheels in a nice silver and have now got them fitted with some nice new toyo proxes that I picked up for a bargain. Have to say I do think 15s with bigger profile tyre suit it better. Obviously some TE37 etc would look nice but I'm keeping her oem jdm yeoo!
Now the plans are to
- Paint the calipers silver (don't like the red)
- Paint front bumper so I can fit jap plate and also fit SiR lip
- Paint rear recess so I can fit decals
- enjoy driving again

Want to get this done before MOT so I don't have to take the car off the road for a couple days in the future. Should have done all this in winter but got lazy.

Some pics

Painting

New rubber

All fitted

Got the bumpers and back number plate holder resprayed last week. Wasn't going to paint the rear bumper but when I took it off i realised the holes that you screw threw were torn and so the bumper doesn't sit exactly perfect. Luckily I had a spare so decided to rub it down and spray it.
I did all the prep work and priming myself in my uncles industrial wet spray booth. It's no body shop booth but does the job as it's heated and relatively clean. A guy that works at the factory who has done body work for years and now paints vintage scooters helped me through it and taught me a lot. I did the first couple coats of base coat and first coat of clear, with him doing the final coats of both. It was my first time ever spraying bumpers but I am pleased at the finish I achieved and I have learnt a lot for next time.
The only thing that has annoyed me since fitting everything is that the front bumper for some reason doesn't seem a good colour match. It's really annoying lol, I don't know if I'm just being picky. The paint I ordered was nh-538 frost white paint from a local company so I thought it would be ok but now after researching I know there is a few different shades so if anyone knows where to get the codes for each shade that would be a help.
Anyways it will do for now as MOT is in a week and so just need the car to be together lol.
Also still need to fit my rear decals.
Here's some photos.

Removal. Nice and healthy behind the bumpers just dirty and dusty. Cleaned it all before putting back together.

Prep

Primed and guide coat

Sanding primer

Painted

Also got the rear bumper bar and front bumper brackets blasted and powder coated black as they were a bit rusted and tatty.

And all back together. What do you think of the colour match on the front bumper? The rear seems good but not the front for some reason. The bumper looks greyer in the pictures than real life, it is white but just seems bit off.

Also I decided to leave it without fogs for a while just for a change. I think once the SiR lip is on it will look nice.

thats a stunning car you have there the more i look at del sols the more i like them never seen a white one either. any more plans for it ?

Cheers lads. Not too many plans with it, just keep it minted and clean oem.
Just had all new discs and pads today. Was going to put genuine Honda but they are a fortune now so went with all blue print stuff. Callipers were like new, could turn rear calliper pistons back in with a screw driver, my mechanic says it's been a while since he could do that with an older honda haha.
SiR lip and decals next I think. Tempted to put a Mugen twin-loop or spoon n1 on sometimes haha but trying to keep it original as possible.
Also need to buy a better camera haha

Hard pushed to find a cleaner one of these in the UK.

Go on treat yourself to a quiet exhaust !

Failed because rear fog doesn't turn off with sidelights.... f**king joke!
