Building a EK and wondering what suspension is going to be best for fast road and daily use, the roads arent the best so tempted to stay away from coilovers if im going to get a better handling car from something like ek9 suspension?

Any pictures of a EK on stock EK9 suspension? Keen to see how it sits with aftermarket wheels/tyres

Whats EK9 suspension like if using good quality lowering springs, bouncy or just as good?

:nice:

Something like H&R / Eibachs / Spoon with set of good adjustable dampers will be comfortable for daily, as long as the springs are progressive they will help to absorb the smaller bumps and imperfections in the road and the adjustable dampers will help you fine tune things. Can't comment on EK9 suspension as I don't run it, but since this is an EK9 forum, they'll be loads of good advice regards to OEM setup

sounds like adjustable dampers and a set of good springs might be best, still interested to hear what ek9 suspension is like on rough roads

I ran and still do in some respect run a standard oem set up.

I have done track days on oem springs and shocks as well as oem shocks and spoon springs.

Both are great, I never felt the need to change them on the road. They allow enough body role whilst still maintaining enough feel and grip.

Who pushes that hard on the road that you require something bone shaking?

On track the spoon springs offered a little more in terms of flatter cornering.

Would I purchase coilovers for the road...... no, would I purchase them for the track..... maybe, but my car spends 95% of its time on the road, why ruin that experience.

yeah thats my thinking too, got a set of Meister's here but they wont cope with the roads. You say oem shocks & springs, guessing thats EK9 yeah?

If anyone has a good condition set for sale send me a PM

Perhaps you have not got the correct spring Bias spring rate & ARB or bump steer correction ect if lowered .
Get it to oem ride height correct spring rate with your coilovers with correct toe and,and work backwards.

That’s on ek9 shocks with 40 ml lowering springs with 55 16s

possibly, think the springs are too stiff for these roads but that might be worth a try

@Leej8 - thats sitting nice, looks good on circuit 8's too

Tested & raised my ride, so much better ,not the looks, but handling is better closer to Honda spec.
Compliance Damping is not the issue, bump steer correction if lowered is.
What are your KGs F&R ?
