I know theres probably a few pages on this already, but hear a lot of different opinions on the subject

So heres two questions

1. What is the best intake/induction kit for a b series, wether its a whales cock, 98spec dc2 airbox or an aem v2

2. Whats the best header/exhaust manifold you can buy for under 500 quid? (non custom)

Fire away folks!!

Imo a mugen/comptech icebox or a blox velocity stack with a custom heatshield
For the header plm do a good toda replica or tegiwa do one theres a few for sale at the minute on here!

Toda mani

Toda rep mani

Intake -

Dc2 box with cold feed

Computec box

Mugen box

IMO people got a bit carried away with the Toda manifolds.. Price tag was ridiculous and they were rare so that meant they had to be the best manifold out there?.? I'm not saying they aren't good but just not the best IMO..

I'd have a buddyclub over one, like this one

The Plm big tube Tri Y

Power Getter Tri Y

As for air intake, it's the same again.. There isn't much proof that the Mugen airbox is worth double or triple the price of any other set up..

Bit of thought and half the money would easily see the same or more gains for you.. A V stack with a filter on a stepped arm from v stack to throttle body is a very good set up and works everytime.. Say 4" v stack down to 2.75" throttle body done in steps 4"-3.5"-3"-2.75".. All in would cost you between £100-150 and net good gains

Just my 2c of course

Induction - Gruppe M (very expensive)
Manifold - Feel's (quite rare)

There are quite a few good brands to choose from but i got a Feel's mani which i cant complain about. They are quite rare to find and pretty expensive.

A big tube tri-y on low cc engine is a nono huge lost in midrange
the normal tube is ok .
But you have to consider ground clearance if you want to maintain header performance, this header will scrap everywere if you have a low vehicle.
Toda headers was the best choise since their first day on the market
for b16-b18 even it works well on b20 too there are test proving that.
i agree their price is crazy but there are copys:beer:

a custom stepped intake with a velocity stack and a big k'n filter will outperform anything
if you cant go custom aem is one of the best from the shelf intake you can buy.

I personally think the OEM DC2R parts perform fairly well, rivaling or even better than some aftermarket parts.

My personal setup I had on my Integra:
Intake:
Blox 3.5" Velocity Stack with Filter
P73 OEM Intake Arm ( Yes the opening fits a 3.5" nicer than a 3.0")
P73 Throttle Body

Exhaust:
98 Spec DC2R Header
Custom 2.5" Mid-Pipe with Choice of Resonator(s)
DC2R Muffler (Keep the car looking stock & quiet)

Exhaust:
98 Spec DC2R Header
Custom 2.5" Mid-Pipe with Choice of Resonator(s)
DC2R Muffler (Keep the car looking stock & quiet)
like the way you think. I have almost the same exhaust system

It works and it's fairly cheap :)
And when you ready to start making serious power you can use a Vibrant or Similar rear muffler and put a short 2.5" Truck tip on it.
Looks 99% like a Type-R muffler until you see the outlet is 2.5" and not 2.25-2.36"
