looking to lower my Vi-Rs a little and wondering what spring would they recommend that provide a slight drop all round without ruining comfort too much.....

looking for around a 20-30mm drop all around

Spoon springs would lower it to the height tour after and they are only a little stiffer that oem ek9 springs. I would also mention eibach but they lower the front by 20-30 more than the rears.

yea i like the fact spoon are progressive so the ride comfort should be relatively unaffected

wonder would tein be any good.....

Tein can be quite stiff and crashy from my personal experience

Its a sign your getting old when you start looking for comfortable mods

don't worry i can still burst my butt cheeks with the Cusco's in the SiR :p

its just a 4 door daily hack so looking improved comfort over the standard Vi-Rs setup that use EK9 shocks and springs if i'm not mistaken.

but id sacrafice a little less comfort for a little more lows.

eibach lower the front 20 mil more than the rear ??
thats putting me off getting them

When I had the eibach springs on my vti that's what it looked like. Might be different for ek9?

Having had Spoon springs, I am actually doubtful of their 'progressive' claim. I am pretty damn sure that when compressed, the tighter coils at the top of the spring were in bind.

The looked more like helper springs than progressive coils.

They're also a good 40% stiffer than stock too, not far off street coilovers in honesty and certainly very stiff as far as lowering springs go.

That said, they did ride pretty well.

Currently running the Spoon springs and dampers here, and "comfort" isn't really the first word that comes to mind. They are fun though! But I guess it all depends on the roads you're on as well.

Comfort, no. They are compliant though, which is what matters.

I found them much better than the Tanabe springs and Koni dampers which were fitted previously, even though the spring rates on the Tanabes were about half in the rear and about 30% less on the front!

The H-Tech springs from TEIN should be just what you are after...

Taken from TEIN's website: High.Tech springs are designed for those seeking a slightly lowered stance while maintaining high ride quality at a reasonable price. Most vehicles will attain a 1.2 inch drop for a more attractive appearance, added performance, and excellent comfort.

I've only read / heard good things about them!

;-)

I have a set of really tidy Eibach springs I could dell you.
