Best springs on stock shocks? what are people using ?

Extended top hats are a good idea if using shorter springs, it will help prolong the life of the damper

My shocks are 15 years old, not sure if putting springs on them will shorten the life of them and end up needing new shocks. So might hold off and buy new coilovers

It will definitely shorten their life, but by how much? 5-10-20%? No one will know exactly...

Judging by their age though, they are sure to be way past their best.

What is the mileage on them?

If you are simply after "better handling" a well matched pair of lowering springs and dampers would probably suit you and your wallet the best.

Steer clear of cheap coilovers. If you are not tracking your car, you probably have no immediate need for them anyway...

Be running 400bhp plus hopefully. so coilovers be the way to go. Just unsure on what make to go for

This is the only one I could find, this was still with full interior in the car. When I removed the rear seats, plastics and everything the rear got a fair bit higher.

So thats a proof of EIBACH being somewhat smooth and soft, which means... low loss of confort ;-) right?
