Black RX project

I've not Had a plate on the front of the car since January mate. Neither has my mate. His car is fresh from paint and his excuse is he hasn't bought sticky pads yet. My plate is cracked and sits on the dash. Haven't been stopped yet but the story is always gonna be someone reversed into it in a car park literally an hour ago.

On a serious note tho I know a girl with the same bumper and she has a 12x6 plate in the middle. Looks fine I'll try and find a pic.

lol, the police here in N. Ireland would do me in a second. Loud flashy things get unbelievable grief.

Anyone know if sticker type number plates are legal? dont really want to have the number plate off to the side and think it will look silly stuck in the middle?
Bud I used velcro sticky and very small plate at front far left . Leaves the front clean and open , on my profile pic <there

It's mad over here these days mate. They merged all the regional police to form police Scotland and tbt I've not see the traffic cops since. Touch wood!

this is going to get expensive! lol. stripped the front end down today and need 1 outer cv joint (replaced both for piece of mind), need new donut gasket and manifold gasket. half shaft bearing feels a little loose so going to replace that too. added to what i had originally planned to do its going to be fun!

Was a nice surprise to see this thread pop-up! Haven't been on here in a long while, Good to see you still kept interest in it :nice:.

yea car was on the back burner last year. didnt really move at all. now ive my motorbike up to scratch its time to get back meddling with this again!

front hub arms are stripped along with some other parts to go off to powder coating. upgrading my front brake setup to ATR calipers and 300m discs at the same time as i noticed when disassembling the front end that the mtec discs where wavy badly socred. it also appears that the ps caliper is sticking on the inside pad. Oh, Going to be doing something fun with the wheels too! :-D

Right just about at the stage where ive finished taking bits off the car to get them sorted and eventually put back on. outer cv joints are off and ready for replacements.

the BC coilovers are still in very good condition considering they've been in there a year or two now.

Scary^^^

I read about that issue with innovative when buying my swap mounts so I chose Hassport in the end

Bloody hell!

I bought new OEM & filled them all with TigerSeal + an engine damper, lovely now. Was bloody crap before, rocking back and forth.

Yup lol. If the 75a do the same I'll be trying something different. Parts are off to the powder coaters now. Just got to order up a load of bolts and then in a week or so I can begin reassembling it all.

I just bought this, it had the number plate in the middle, I removed just cause I think it looks cleaner without, didn't exactly look horrible with it on the front to be fair though.

Should give you an idea of what you want to do.

not much to update. waiting on parts to arrive and powder coating to finish. So in the meantime i started the mounts. got the rear one done, was an absolute faff getting the buggers in. still needs a little tweek to get them 100% but the hard parts done.

stripped down the BC coilovers this morning and they are still fresh, the corrosion protection spray i put on at least two years ago seems to have done its job brilliantly! :D

Got the coilovers cleaned up and reassembled. also got the cv joints done on the drive shafts, more straightforward than i thought it was going to be.

fun fact coilovers were coated in Miester R's corrosion protection spray, safe to say it works...

just went back and checked and the coilovers have been in since June 2013, cant believe how little corrosion there has been!

parts are back from powder coat finally. just waiting on a ton of bolts to show up from tegiwa and then i can get stuck into rebuilding it all!
