I'm thinking to purchase a js racing intake (pre-owned).

And wanted to know if the OEM breather line from the rocker cover (OEM) to the intake would be sufficient to the intake?

Or would I need a after-market/Js racing breather hose?

Thanks
:)

Its the same size as your garden water hose. So anything that size will fit fine. OEM wont fit because its a fixed design and wont reach. :)

thanks for the garden hose suggestion.

I read your (jugbugz) sticky on the intake and saw that you modded the coolant line too! Did you have to re-bleed the coolant system? chances I can get a airlock?

Anybody know the mm (millimeter) size I'll need for the breather pipes?

been looking at braided hoses! :)

Yes you will need to rebleed the system. But after the bleed, just ensure you keep an eye on your coolant reservior tank and keep it topped up. Over a few drives, air will pump itself out.

The J's racing hose looks like a clear garden hose. So something that size will do.

Thought I had to rebleed etc, thanks for the clarification.

Is it necessary to modify the coolant line? Or can I just disconnect the 'breather pipe' and connect the new one?

Have other members come across this problem?

The two pipes are welded to each other, but still both are separate pipes.

i spent a while pondering this one, in the end I just junked the standard coolant/breather pipe assembly as trying to separate the 2 pipes was gonna be a pain in the arse.

The real J's kit is supplied with a replacement breather pipe which looks like the clear/braided hose in the attached photo.

I just used a piece of fuel hose i had lying around (pretty much identical to the stuff in the photo) to reconnect the coolant line with a couple of jubilee clips on each end to keep a tight seal. The diameter needed for the breather pipe is slightly larger in diameter than that needed for the coolant pipe though.

Works a dream, plus looks pretty good to boot!!
