Need some advice on a good quality bushing kit..

As im going to be fitting 5 stud hubs to my ek4 i thought i mase well do all the bushes, drop links and ball joints before i fit them. Im getting buddyclub extended ball joints but i don't know what bushes or drop links to get.

i don't actually know all the bushes that exist so if someone could point me in the right direction on which ones to look for that would be great. All i know is that i need the rear trailing arm bushes and the front control arm bushes. Also is there any better drop links to get or is it best to just get fresh oem ones?

I was thinking about this kit:

ENERGY-SUSPENSION Master Bushing Set - EK VTi - FUNKY POWER

has anyone used these?

ok thanks for the advice. obviously as im fitting the 5 stud i'll need ek9/dc2 ones, but would this mean that certain other bushes in the kit won't kit my car?

Just buy the EK4 kit! All the components involved in the 5stud swap are identical to the ek4 minus the actual hub!

^^^^^^ how so?

its the same process to get the old ones out and put new ones in. if anything its easier to install the hardrace bushes as they have a thick metal collar which is easier to press in without damaging them or the arms.

Hardrace gets my vote, they are over double the price but are more than double the quality...

I agree with elchunk, the quality of this kit is better than poly. Will get some feedback once my DC2 is back on road.

In setting up terms, Poly bushes use a metal insert which is whats clamped to and aids free rotation inside the poly bush, which is simple and you can just bang it on, tighten up and the bush is completely unloaded. Where for a normal rubber bush uses elasticity properties to allow movement in the correct way which is all good but when tightening up (normally when on axel stands or when the car is completely unloaded) it is very easy to set them in the wrong place, so when the suspension is compressed under the cars loads the bushes can have positive or negative preload on them. Although this is dependent on the kind of bush ie a front camber arm bush.

have full energy bush kit in my jordan and dc2 has hardrace, the hardrace would be better for track use etc but the energy is more than enough for road/weekend track day car

How do they compare to hardrace? :)

I have no personal experience on these bushes or hardrace just from what I have read.

I havent seen a direct comparison either but PIC suspension components are very highly regarded in USA.

I think comparing them to Hardrace may be a hard task as they are similar design I think the PIC ones would be just as good maybe better - i'm not sure which brand offers the stiffest bushing but the PIC's being 20-40% stiffer than OEM appeals to me and i'm thinking of cost too PIC's maybe cheaper.

Mines polybushed and love it, only cost £120 for the full kit, looking at that hardrace kit you will only get 2 arms done for that lol

What it the fastest way to get a full set of hardrace suspension bushes for my EK4
