Cheers man! Can't wait to get out and give it a good kicking! Haha needs alignment done and also the paintwork tidyd up but apart from that I just want to enjoy the car this year, spent too long with it in bits in my garage

It's great feeling driving your car after you've worked out all the little bugs ,
And upgrading it for better driving,
Wish you well ,and your motor,

so after a good while of running an old nardi competition i got fed up of the leather and also the size of the wheel itself so i ordered a suede personal neo grinta 330 from @6TWO1 and im over the moon with it! feels and looks much better than the nardi and i think it fits with whats left of my interior rather nicely!

Nice ! There is a lad on here that flocked his centre section along the gear stick and hand break, look really well.

im planning on painting any metal white at some point, not intended as a shiw car, purely a toy

That steering wheels looks lovely. Im actually on the fence about this same wheel. Im tempted now!

Been a few changes recently! Firstly the ce28s are gone, the offset was way too wide and rubbed the arches no matter how stiff I set the coilovers, wasn't into that at all! So I'm back to 96 spec teggys with advanced ad08r on them.

Secondly I made the decision to go for a dc2 cage as I refuse to pay silly cash for a coupe specific cage when a dc2 one fits! Got this for a good deal and it was bought new by the previous owner and fitted to a shell then sat doing nothing. Still to fit it but decided to double check it fits and everything sits in great!

Since the car is back on the road again I took it to my local garage to alighn the rear wheels since I fitted hardrsce rear toe and didn't want my new Yoko's getting worn too quickly!
Lastly when I done my engine mounts I never replaced the inlet gasket when removing and re fitting my inlet while doing the rear mount so I've had some mega idling issues which were quite annoying driving a 130 mile trip to buy a rollcage during rush hour traffic so needless to say it had to be fixed so I ordered an inlet gasket from the guys at @Tegiwa Imports and they send me out their own thermal gasket replacement in no time, great service from them :) so that weekend I was lucky enough to get our 2 days of summer weather so done the replacement while it was sunny. While I was at it I realised I'd plugged certain plkugs in the wrong place while doing the engine swap so once I sorted that and fitted the inlet I managed to solve my engine warning light issue I've had for ages! All in all a productive day.

Old thermal spacer vs the new tegiwa gasket!!

next up I'm hoping to paint the interior and fit the cage, and possibly get a center box fitted to the exhaust as after 4 months of not driving it I'm not hugely keen on the drone of regular driving with a straight through.

Small update, finally got a big center box fitted and the car is so much quieter! Still get a good scream from VTEC right enough so I can continue being a hooligan when I want to :) big thanks to bozo Billy's for tabbing and fitting the box for me! Secondly I took out my seats and got as much of the inside painted as I could be arsed doing.

I then got some foot plates to bolt the caste through the floor into and got in about fitting the cage, got my girlfriend to give me a hand bolting it up, love having another half who is just as into cars as me!!
_20160410_161044.JPG

And within a few hours it was bolted into place and everything given a final tighten up! Even gave the rear x brace a quick spray too just so it fitted in with the cage.

After that I bolted back in the bucket seats and harnesses and that's it pretty much done for now

Next up I'd like to change my wheel colour and get to a few meets ect this summer. C&c welcome

I'd get some box section or something in there to raise the cage a bit man, if you roll the car thats going to offer very little protection :/ Obv a worst case scenario but still haha.

I wouldn't put box section in unless it was fully seam welded/gusseted to the car as it would just provide somewhere for the cage to break away, personally the way it's fitted is the best way to fit a dc2 cage in a coupe! cusco cages don't offer major protection anyway more for stiffness if anything

Oh yeah, obviously weld whatever your using to space the cage otherwise you're asking for trouble lol

literally just found this thread mate :L better get some pics of urs and mine soon

Quick update, got a new center box fitted but wasn't too happy with it so went back to complete auto solutions where I should have went before! Hey ho my mistake but it's all good now, got the flexi and the center box replaced with good quality gear, quite happy with it as the previous flexi was only 2.25 now it's a 2.5 all the way through and I have no idea what size the bore in the backbox was but the difference was night and day, much better air flow, happily recommend complete auto solutions for exhaust work any day!

Also for my birthday the other half got me a go pro hero 3 black edition so il need to have a wee play with that, she also ordered me a blox velocity stack filter and bits n bobs to fit it so il get pics up soonish.

Quick update now that there's.actually stuff happening

Firstly I got new skunk2 lcas (thanks to @LoganK) rta bushes, hardrace toe arms, the handbrake linked back up, some minor welding done and a full wheel alignment so everything is running straight, oddly I decided not to do it myself so I handed the car to Braidwood auto services near Carluke to carry out the work and can't fault them, first class.

Next up I got a k tuned velocity stack and filter bought by my other half from @Tegiwa Imports and decided I better fit that so got some silicone tubing and a hit of 3 inch pipe and chucked together an induction kit :)

I then thought it would be a good idea to have some sort of head shield to avoid heat soak so fabricated myself a shield out of some sheet metal in my garage, I will get a bit of carbon fiber to rivet to the main plate of it between the filter and the engine itself as I've been told metal wasn't the best choice but here's what I've made so far!

Next up il be getting some carbon fiber to plate the head shield with to avoid as much heat soak, hopefuly that works

Any c&c welcome

Beautifully done pal ! I like your diy heat shield also .
All coming on very nicely.

Thanks man, I have noticed it heating up a LOT so will need to sort that. The rest is managing to stay cool though :)

Also I bought myself a new face-lift bumper and ek9 lip but the bottom grill was knackered to decided to remove it, going to get some front wings too and get them painted to try and freshen the car up a bit, where would be the best place to get.wings? Heard euro car parts is quite good

Such a delight to drive compared to the previous daily (Citroën c1 so not hard) I'd like to keep it standard but who knows what will happen

Looking good mate, thanks for the mention!!

Cars looking cool, il need to see this at some point.
