hi all finally getting a type R wohoo.Picking it up on friday, its a 2002 ep3,only bad thing is trying to get car insurance the best offer i got was 1600 fully comp for the year, not including a £450 deposit, im 23, have been driving for 3 and a half years, and have 3 years no claims,Does anyone know why im getting prices so high thanks

this country is ****ed, thats your only explanation.

im 20 with 2 years ncb and 3 years exp.

paying £1300 on a Ek SiR

Your right mate its a f***ing joke,i wouldint mind paying that if they where to fix the roads, there terrible.I managed to get insurance as a named driver through my dads policy working out an just over 1000.

my insurance went up £4 this year for my fully comp, to £323.. gutted.

Mine went up, but then i rang and got it cheaper. Still over priced though imo

£870 fully comp, 0 excess on the EK9 and i am 22 with 1 crash, 4ncb (makes **** all difference the ncb tbh).

If i had an EG6 its only £520 lol

Really depends on where you stay mate. I pay ridiculous amount of money just because I stay where I stay. When I tried just out of curiosity different postcodes on one of the comparison websites the quotes halved!

"this countrys f***d"

couldnt agree more.

i live in one of the safest places for miles and my renewal is insane. from £94 a month up to £310 haha all because of lying c**ts f****n up my ncb

rant over

Its because everyone is out to take everyone else for a ride.

I scratched someones car in a slight bump back in 2009, total cost came to about £6k, £4200 of which was accounted for by the hire car.

So long as people continue to do this, and insurers are all in cahoots with each other allowing this to happen, then we will continue to get ripped off.

RIP OFF BRITAIN lol the country is a complete joke, rising insurance costs, rising fuel costs, rising food costs its a complete joke. thats my rant over for the day lol

..you forgot to add costs for petrol if flying with thomas cook. lol

"tour operator Thomas Cook to introduce a new fuel surcharge to the cost of its holidays.

For short-haul flights the extra levy is £15 per holiday, rising to £40 for long-haul"

taken from BBC News - Petrol price hits record average 130p per litre

 haha everyone has to chip in for a fuel surcharge now, whats next!!

It's because the industry is unregulated and the insurance companies want to maximize profit, like any other business. Doubt it will ever change.
