Anyone here using a 2timer?

I just got one from Htune and it doesn't seem to work. Htune stacked the maps and burned the chip too and they are adamant they burned it correctly so I've asked them to send me another 2timer to try.

There were two maps, one had launch and the other didn't so it's easy to tell which is which, but it's always stuck in the map with launch, regardless of whether I ground the wire or not. What's even weirder is it will intermittently lose launch for a few seconds almost as if it's switched, then revert back to the launch map....it even does this regardless of whether the switch is grounded or not!!

Hopefully they will come back to me with some suggestions but the first reply I got was basically they didn't know what to suggest as the chip was burned right... so was wondering if anyone else had experienced anything like this?

I'm sure I've installed it correctly with the notches lined up and facing forwards towards the cross bar on the ecu. some instructions would've helped though..!

Cheers

Just thought I'd update this.... I contacted moates and Dave basically said that it sounded like a problem with the chip, especially as the CEL light is always on. If I put my old single map chip in the two timer it runs as normal - no CEL. Same if I just put my old single bin chip in the socket.

I even plugged the two timer chip Htune made into the ECU socket and straight away the CEL comes on, which proves it's not the 2timer, as it should just happily run the un-switched map when plugged in the ECU socket.

To clarify - the two maps run fine with no CEL when used individually previously... so it's clear to me that when H Tune have stacked the bins/burned the chip something has gone wrong/corrupt. I had someone look at the map as Htune sent me a copy and they said the checksum had not been removed, passed this info onto htune and didn't get a response.

Dave at moates even said he was happy to speak to them.

H tune then came back and just said they were refunding the chip - to which I replied it's not the money I'm bothered about, I now have a new hole in my dash with a switch wired up that currently does **** all. If they didn't know what they were doing they shouldn't have agreed to do the chip for me in the first place. Since then they have gone completely quiet and not responded to any messages.

If it were my company I would have sent another 2timer and chip out with the checksum removed and told the customer to send their bits back, that's what I expected from them but the actual customer service I had was very poor, for the reasons above and also the fact that my issues were blatantly not a priority in the slightest, taking days to get responses to emails. It took 2 weeks to get the refund and I didn't even want my money back. To be fair they did eventually offer to exchange my 2 timer for another, but at this point Dave at Moates who is effectively the guru on all this **** basically said it's definitely the chip, so I didn't see the point. Seemed to me it would be cheaper and easier for them to just have another go at the chip.

I've never had any problems buying stocked items from them but think twice if you need them to go the extra mile. I at least expected them to delve into it a little and have another go.

So now I'm at a loss what to do really, spend 120 quid on a burn2 to try and do it myself, or try and find someone else to give it a go... anyone here capable and willing?

I've not really looked into the whole chip tuning thing seen as I only really tune hondata.
If you get an s300 I could put a custom tune on it for you. I'm wondering what was the need for 2 different maps?

No need really just fancied having a play with it. One was the JDM B18C map and the other a dyno tuned bin from a car with the same bolt ons as me + launch etc. I've no need for an S300, might consider it in future if I go mad tuning the car.

Spoke to eurospec and they are happy to do it and have done it before so should be sorted now :)
