Civic Jordan 258 rebuild

So this weekend I taxed her, despite every bone in my body saying I was crazy given the time of year and weather.

Managed to get out to do some photos with my photo guy prior to him having a knee operation and therefore being unable to walk for about 6 months.

I've only seen half the photos so far, but they look amazing. Here's one below showing off the new bumper.

Still a few mods left for this year, wheel nuts, rocker cover (awaiting new gaskets from tegiwa) and a bit more of a tidy up in the engine bay

I love the color! :)

Spent some time the other weekend sorting the list from last post.

Wheel nuts sorted and look miles better not being all chipped and flakey
rocker cover changed as gaskets finally arrived
Small tidy in the bay
Catch can emptied - didnt need it, was practically empty but hey ho best to do some preventative stuff
Manifold wrapped - this was a bugged to do on the car, but got there eventually

Photo below taken at Mimms SantaPod to show the new bits

Also got these cool shots at Mimms with a Y56 DC2 and a wrapped, but still yellow, FK8. Dont think there will be many times this many different Y56 cars are parked with each other of different models. Unfortunately no Y56 EK9 there at the event to get in on it and the yellow S2K had already left

Like the photos with the other 2 yellow whips, gotta name them the minions! Also that ramhorn looking intimidating:cool:

So not a lot gone on with the car in terms of build, but I have recently been on the Mimms/Jap Performance Show road trip to the Beligum edition of the show.

This was a right laugh and I would certainly reccomend to anyone thinking about it.

Started off at Ace Cafe (probably be the last time I ever go given the ULEZ BS), drove through to Beligum, chilled and go karted for a day and then show, then drove back. The standard of cars over there was really high given the Belgian rules on cars, but a lot of people there from the Netherlands.

Had one rocker cover bolt come off on the way over, luckily it didnt cause and issue as it was only one of the ones holding the spark plug cover on. Other than that the car was faultless.

There has been a bit of a video put together by Big Mike, which features the car in a fair bit. Photos below that taken from the event.

Onwards to Combe this weekend!

Combe was awesome. Great to see everyone again and even some new faces. Unfortunately the weather was being typically british - especially compared to last year! One of Vish's pals did some rollers on the way and this is an example of how they turned out.

So when on track at JDMCombe it was imposisble to shift into 3rd gear, something I hadnt experienced before with the car, but that continued on the way home. Got some cool photos though.

I ordered some new bushes, which turned out to be the wrong ones for my gearbox setup. So even more ordered and the issue was resolved, however the gear knob was still as wobbly as it was in gear as it was in neutral. Ordered some more linkage bushing parts to go into the gear shifter from @spikeyhairdude and collected yesterday. Just got them installed and seem to have less wobble now.

Also managed to get this awesome drawing sent to me from @artby_abz on IG. She saw the car on our stand, liked it, found a post on my IG and did the drawing. It was then posted and I got tagged and immediately asked for it. Turns out her brother used to own an EK9. Cant express how chuffed I was to have someone draw the car and then to actually receive the drawing.

More updates...

Had her on the dyno on Friday at Northampton Motorsport, just down the road from me really.

Troy worked his magic with Raman doing the driving as both another set of eyes and an apprentice of sorts. It was great to see them both working together so well once we were past the initial teething issues of getting her on the dyno and haltech software speaking to the ecu (mostly because its an older one and the software isnt as flash as the new stuff)

Anyway, plenty of photos below as Alex came along (@alxx.photography on IG), he had a spare day so offered him a seat and he sorted me out.

Made 434.1HP in the end (graph below). There were plenty of issues from the last map ironed out: running rich as heck, vtec disengaging before red line, ignition cut rather than fuel cut, redline in wrong place, plenty of knock all through the map, etc.

Car was much more driveable on the way home and is a complete different beast now, so happy with how it is setup. Didnt bother turning boost up becuase A) why bother, its enough power already and B) needed a higher rated wastegate spring to get much more out of it

There is a small dip towards the end of the map, but its only 10hp which is barely noticeable and Troy said he had seen before in certain cars with certain setups and spent days trying to remove it to no avail, so we didnt bother with more than 10 mins of trying given how small the dip actually is

Got one more event this year I want to attend before I fly to Japan for a while. Brakes are coming off for a refurb, gearbox needs rebuilding and then want to get the bay cleaned up too as a winter project (if I can find the motivation to work in the cold). I am hopingto find a special gear knob in Japan as the leather has just started to come away from the OEM gearknob. Want to get it all done ready for Mimms Christmas special, btu we will see.

So had a little meet in Milton Keynes this Bank Holiday weekend which I went to last year. Real chilled little meet and all for cancer research so cant complain!

Managed to bag 2nd in show. Chuffed with that, first award for the car and certainly makes the pain worth it. Had loads of people chatting about the Jordan and how it had been nicely presented with the Jordan merch in the back.

Excuse the poor photos, my dad took them and it had been a long weekend

Sweet stuff bro, 2nd place ain't bad but lets get that first place soon.
love the optimism dude but genuinely did well to get 2nd. I want to get a few things done as mentioned so hopefully get something else at another show in the future whenever that may be

Nice car mate . I have to ask , where did you get the cluster surround from

So before I flew out to Japan I took the brakes off for a respray. Nightmare of a job getting the rears off as everything was rusted together, nothing a grinder, drill and set of taps couldnt solve!

Dropped them off to my guy @glpaintworks on IG and hes sent me a bunch of photos of them which I'll dump at the end here in no particular order.

Found that the yellow stickers were the wrong size so I ordered some more to him, but again these were wrong despite getting two different sizes and measuring idk how many times. As such he handpainted in the yellow.

Chuffed with how they have come out, just need to wait until I get back to pick them up and get them back on the car now
