Hi guys I'm fairly new on here so be gentle! :p

For the last year and a half I've had a Yaris T sport...lots of people laughed when I first got it, everyone else having a fiesta zetec s or similar but then it had a bit of work done and started raping all of them (straights and twisties) so eventually the jokes subsided! Any who the power got a bit boring and after looking into turbo / superchargers it just wasn't cost effect to take it any further...

Currently in the process of putting it back to standard and the other weekend....

...I bought a 2000 facelift RX EK9!!

Its had a few bits done
- Tein super street coilovers with an EDFC unit to wire in
- Volk TE37's
- Tegiwa Whales ***** Intake
- SRS Manifold into a decat skunk2 megapower mid section and cat-back

Will be looking to get rid of SRS mani in favour of a tegi toda rep and would also really like a 5zigen 304 border cat back, apparently they are rare as hens teeth so may look at importing one if the duty isn't too silly. Apart from that it just needs a few bits tidying up, front bumper and lip could do with a re-spray and i need to fit a new center vent in the dash.

Hopefully will be out on the road by the end of the month if all goes well selling my car :drive:

Any thoughts or opinions welcomed!

Col

Looks a nice example, nice wheels, remember seeing this advertised somewhere

Cheers man, yeah was up on Pistonheads for a while with an extortionate price but I went up with mate who runs a garage and we got a fair bit off so it seemed a pretty good deal considering what others go for these days :)

Cheers for the kind words guys :).

I am a bit of a whore for a set of JDM wheels, drove from London to Cumbria for the black set that went on the Yaris (the seller understandably refused to courier) but was well worth it IMO.

I'm really going to miss the little Yari, it's been such a good car in the time I've owned it...genuinely don't think you could get better economy for how nippy it is either, was a struggle to get it anywhere below 20mpg even when looning about. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a first 'quick' / warm hatch car :nice:

Welcome along, car looks great!

ek9's are pretty reasonable on fuel also so that good news!

Welcome mate, my good friend had a yaris t sport, a lot of cool mods on it and was pretty quick going round knockhill, awesome wee cars.

9 looks good man. Congrats on the purchase

@rd55 dun - yeah I've heard they're not too bad so long as its not singing along in vtec all day! we'll see how well that goes haha

@Bushell - cheers man, It's killing me looking at it in the garden every morning when I get up! just want to take it out and ring its neck lol. That wouldn't be a guy called Alan by any chance?? Only because I know he used to do a fair few track days at knockhill... His T sport was my inspiration when modding mine, such a clean car...

Yeah thats him buddy haha. Real nice lad. His Mrs has that yaris (vitz) now minus a few of the mods. Was such a cool car wasnt it?

Another facelift 2000 reg Rx owner here :)

I've always liked the Yaris T Sport - affordable, reliable, practical, fun to drive, etc. - cracking first car or as a daily driver. Yours was done nicely.

Do remember seeing this 9 for sale on Pistonheads, clean example by the looks of it. The rare optional foglights look decent. Enjoy!

Yeah thats him buddy haha. Real nice lad. His Mrs has that yaris (vitz) now minus a few of the mods. Was such a cool car wasnt it?
Lol small world aye! Yeah I bought his BC coilovers when he stripped all the mods off, nice guy to chat to like you say. Loved the attention to detail...it was so nicely turned out the year before last when he came down for Japfest.

Cheers Saqib, it always used to put a smile on your face and being a Yaris 90% of people would underestinate how quick it was off the line :) engine was nothing special but the gear ratios are really close so you can punch well above your weight with it ;)

Yeah man was all the small bits, attention to detail was brilliant. He is like that with all his cars haha.

Anyway enjoy the 9 pal. Look forward to your updates :).

Very nice EK9 mate, do you live around Uxbridge/Ruislip by any chance? A Yaris that looked exactly the same as yours, gunned it past me earlier in the year and I recognise the car! I was in my DC2 :)

@avidjames yes mate, that sounds like me lol :p
I think i've seen you around a few times depending on which one it is!... is yours the one with the fresh gold enkeis? Or theres another clean white one i saw in eastcote a while back with the jdm standard multispokes?

@LittleGeo - is the old owner still on here by any chance? Always nice to get a bit of background on a car from someone who actually owned it rather than all the hearsay lol...Its still clean as a whistle man, just needs a few small bits putting right and it will be good as new. Bumper and lip are getting repainted in the next couple of months, need to get hold of a decent set of engine mounts and I still need to repair the heater vent when I get time but once all thats done I can start properly playing with it :)
