 As a big EK9 fan I hate the fact that US don't sell or bring EK9's to this messed up state. You have to go thru hell just to buy one and pay soo much to at least bring one here to the states. All we have is the lamn Si. I just wanted to say how I feel about it, there.

you are not alone in your frustration sir, most of the people on this forum have had there ek9's imported, includeing one person in the US.

one person.......but dut has one also, however he hasnt got it reg. completely.

what im thinking about is just importing one swaping the parts over the the ej hatch and then selling the shell. after that i could easily sell the car for over 10000

but i am wondering if its going to cost more than that to do it?!

yeah i was referring to dut, what do you mean 10k? sell the shell for 10k? i doubt it. anywho, if you want an ek9 conversion just get friendly with an importer, thats what i did and i ended up getting a pretty good deal on most stuff. in the end i may have spent around 20k< ($17,800 to be exact, that includes the 3500 i paid for the car)but keep in mind that includes the turbo set up, AEM EMS 30-1060u, work wheels, the exterior conversion + paint, b16b engine swap with mods, interior work, full suspension + brake upgrade etc... plus i sold a lot of my old parts to make up for a lot of that. then again i did ALL the labor myself, i could not imagine the cost if i had to pay labor on all those parts like the swap brake upgrade suspensino upgrade and all... i think im going to start a "how much have you spend on your car" thread :)

^ what would be one hell of a thread.

no i was talking about selling the converted car. i dont know its just a quick thought. major props on doing the work your self, but try doing some of that in an apartment parking lot....i have....lol

but 20k for a kick ass car isnt bad....some of the new (lower end) civic's are going for that much.....crazy.

You can always do what U.S. guys do with their EJ's (sohc US 96-00 hatchbacks), swap a twin cam motor from a Civic SI or Integra, or boost it with a some type of F/I charger. The EK9 and EK4 motors are a wonder of 4 cyl performance tho =)

exactly, or you can do both like im doing :) twin cam swap (b16b) + turbo :D

One bad thing is that I can't afford the money to buy a motor and I'm buying the JDM parts little by little. In time, it will be up to speed.

Your right having no garage sucks.
But still I'm not pissed that we cant get ek9's over here, its 10 year old technology we can always build something better.

I'm saving for a real one. It's so much work and money to convert one unless you get hooked up on all of your parts and do all the work yourself. I have no car right now and maybe 80/mo in bills I guy in L.A quoted me at about 12K-14K unregistered.
