Welcome along man!
Ek4 looks stunning!
Extremely clean car!

Just painted a white set of Mini wheels black, these will serve as winterset:

Also put SW rigid subframe collars on my car.....very nice result from such a small part with so little installation time. I once drove a brand new ITR and I was amazed about the precision of the steering and how much feeling in the wheel there already was just driving away from standstil, sort of like you could really feel the tires through your hands.....I have that same feeling now so this is a must have for any next car. I quess this precision also leads back to the fact that with the collars the subframe is perfectly centered on the car (like it should have from factory) resulting in ideal alignement left + right. (also had it aligned afterwards). Before the collars my subframe was shifted to the front.

welcome to the forum. its always nice to see the older crowd show up with some nice cars.

Hi Dan ,i've installed the "stiff ring" rigid collars and i instantly felt the difference on my ej9.They also have collars for the RTA bushings.
What Caster /camber angle's do those MG ZS have stock ?Aren't they lower then a stock EK4 too ?

Hi Nick! Nice improvement he :nice:

Here you have my alignment before, if you take the middle of the rangespecs then you have the factory MG ZS specs. ;)

Grotefoto-GEYPTWST.jpg

That alignment btw was just a reading, I have my car on a different alignment now....more camber in front, little less caster, more toe rear.

Do you have a link to the rta collars? Never heard of them :)

@Smitty: thanks mate!

did you happen to go to the Honda meet that was in Venlo last year or this year? I attended last year with EKGARAGE, but wasn't able to go this year.

Thanks Dan ,i think i have around the same specs as you have now .
Caster is around 3° , front camber 0°33' and rear 1°23' .
Toe settings are also around the same values as close to Zero in front and a little open in the rear.

Those RTA collars go into the 2 bolts of the rta bushing .Stiff rings make them just as spoon does (aluminium that gets pressed in the subframe)

I noticed the car was a lot more rigid afterwords ,only downside was i discovered 1 lower control arm was bend a little due to having lower caster on 1 side.

Nope I didn't......familiy/young kids :))

@Nick: so you have to put all those in between subframe and chassis or just between bolts and subframe?

Yeah up to almost 3 degrees caster is still possible with the stock tierod, without suffering from bumpsteer (hence max stock caster spec is already 2 40) thats the main reason I backed down the caster a little...I made my own bumpsteer gauge and meassured the toecurves:

Dan , between bolt and subframe .
That gauge looks great :nice: .From the looks of it the MG ZS uses EG/ITR style upper control arms and usdm lower control arms in the front. Are these different from stock EK arms in terms of geometry ?

They are the same style as ITR LCA, but they use different knuckle joints (thicker/stronger) so the hole for the joint is wider and both the bushing are also stiffer.

Hi guys, just an update on what has changed since my last post here:

I bought a Rover 416 Si for last winter to fullfill daily duties and spare my EK4 Limo, the Rover is gone since a few months....kept it a bit longer as I intended because I liked the way the car drove. (not surprising knowing it's actually a Honda for most of the part)
And I sold my CRX VTEC this summer. Before I sold it I did a complete head refurbishing

After that I bought a late Facelift EK4 with JDM B18C 98 spec R, I knew the car well already long before I bought it as I helped building it in 2008. With the mods it had done to it (RMF Header/testpipe/G200/OBD1 Neptuned/ITR Intake with Spoon filter), it puts 220HP on the dyno, a lovely car and a blast to drive:

The car once on my previously owned Volks TE37, they were sold a few months ago and are now on a genuine white EK4 facelift.

Couldn't resist putting the Mini Imola's on, allthough most would disagree :))
Foto1k0-RKCLWAHZ.jpg

But the fun was rather short....the car was not up for sale or any but someone approached me, really wanted to buy my engine but eventually ended up buying the whole car so since this weekend the car is now off to Germany.

Still have my Limo though....it's rocking the Buddyclubs on the picture above but repainted in sports bronze (ignore dirty car):

The Limo might go as well in the near future to make way for a bigger familycar as we are expecting our 3rd child!

Hi lovely honda's... thread moved to members rides for you update more often ( hopefully ) :alone:

Hi guys,

Very little activity in my Honda hobby for the past year, because we got our 3rd kid in December 2015. ;) The EK4 has only seen 3000km's in the last year.

Still wanna do a shoot on the Buddyclubs but I'm thinking of switching back to the factorylook and putting the Rota R-Specs back on, thats how I rolled the car before I switched to the current look.

I also have a factorynew B18C6 engineswap + SPEC96 LSD gearbox looooong planned for the Limo but I decided to put it up for sale. :(

Hi guys,

It's been a while. I can inform you I still have my Limo EK4! And it has actually been our main daily driver for the past years, because I couldn't find a proper replacement. So now it's getting the mileage it has gotten too little in the past. :)

In the mean time I did some changes for daily purposes mainly.

I sold my EK9 cluster and steering wheel and switched backed to OEM ones:

I removed the EK9 frontlip (it scraped to much) and sold my VTi-S rearlip and OEM Window Visors:

I sold my SRS G55 muffler and installed a OEM DC2 one for the most comfortable sporty exhaust note:

I had to extend the tip with the OEM tip of a DB8 muffler so it suits my Limo better:

Then because it's a daily and has to be safe in winter conditions, I bought the very sporty Toyo 954S 195/45-16 winter tires, which are really great tires I can tell you, you won't miss your summerset that much with these. ;-) I put them on my 16" R-Spec Rims:

Ps. I was also able to sell my new B18C6 complete in the meantime. And the B16A2 is still running like new.
