Different types of EK9's

My knowlegde of EK9's is to say the least limited and i have a few questions.

what are the different types of EK9's out there; as i forever see people say stuff like:
"EK9 type R Facelift"
"EK9 type R Pre-Facelift"
"EK9 Trype Rx"

and other such things which, to a new person means nothing
I'd like to find out what all these different vesions bring to the table with looks and performance
Anyone help me with this one??

From my knowledge, i know that a EK9 Type R Facelift is a late 98/99 model. Which has different bumper.

I'm pretty sure?..

Pre-Facelift is without the 99spec bumper.

99-00 year ek's (not just the civic type r's) have the updated front end, or "facelift", or just referred to as the 99-00 front.
96-98 ek's have a different designed front end, or pre-facelift.
Search this thread for ek9 specs, and differences between the standard civic type r and the civic type Rx.

u can hve 2 different ctr's (civic type R)...3 if we consider such "facelift", it being a late '98.

96-98 ek's & 99-00 eks do vary a bit as Honda in 1999 did the civic ek facelift. Mayor noticeable change is the front bumper/lip, however front & rear lights & bonnet were changed too...

my ek4 '98 had bumper strips on front & rear bumpers [pic], which ctr 96-98 never had... i removed these strips filled in the gaps and now as strips r jst not for me!

Good thread, I asked the same question, when I saw the specifications of both "versions of ek9 cars".

In Japan, they refer to the 99-00 ek9 as the ek9s Type Rx.

There are a lot of differences in appearance between the 97 - 98 and 99 - 00 models.

The ek9 type rx model specification says, that it has a key less entry and aluminum pedals....

My car is a 99 ek9 type r, with key less entry, but no aluminum pedals. So my car is not a Type Rx only for 1 detail! hehehe

Also I saw a December / 1998 ek9 model, facelift, 99-00 dashboard, but NO key less entry and no aluminum pedals.

In conclusion, there are a lot of versions of ek9s, and for me the 99 - 00 are all Type Rx! since the difference is minimal! Also keep in mind that you can see ek9s, with recaro seats, a/c but with manual windows (for example neo's car).
