Hi quick question I'm looking to purchase my intercooler kit and I've seen 2 kits one with the attachment for a dump valve and the other doesn't have an attachment at all just a straight pipe from the throttle body to the intercooler now my question is this do I need a dumpvalve really??? Or do I? What's the pro's n cons as price wise on the intercooler kits is £144 with the attachment and £188 with

Any advise is greatly appreciated

i'd like to clarify first if i understood you correctly, i'm assuming you're referring to the blow off valve (bov) right? like the HKS, tials, etc. These are VTA (Vent to Air)
if yes, to answer your question if you need a dump valve / blow off valve, yes i highly recommend it to avoid damage on your turbo everytime the throttle closes.

If you're pertaining, to something like this and to the recirculating bov/dump valve and its pipe, it really depends on the emission standards in your area:
- for honda's, usually the CARB approved like greddy kits which (if i'm not mistaken are VTA's) from what i could remember
- the recirculating dump valve is usually implemented/used for carb/emission related concerns.

performance and/or function wise, in my opinion, is each to his own preference. The reason for this is that, whichever your setup may be (whether recirculating or vta), it can be tuned as is.

hope i answered your question accurately.

Yeah you did pal thanks and yes I mean the BOV I call it a dump valve

I know people that run without one, if I was on a budget and didn't really care how long it lasted I'd run without one but I'd recommend getting one if the budget allows.

I can buy a Nov it's no issue, just the intercooler kit I've bought doesn't have the opening it fit on so I Ma have to use my imagination
