Was down at Knockhill Thursday for a 4 hour tracknight with the Monsterunit lot

Car was going pretty well, the only thing i've done since Germany tbh is bleed the brakes and give the car a spanner check

waiting for briefing

think I was setting up the gopro here

then some shots on the track

old man even took the M5 down for a blast :karl:

Didn't get overtaken the whole night, couple spins at the hairpin (revised hairpin seems to unsettle the car a tad and I was just a bit early on the power), overall a great time

Best of all managed to break 60s with a 59.8 which I was delighted with

Car will be getting an oil change and then tucked away for now until the new year, had alot of good use out it this year so can't complain that it will take a back seat for a while. Needs a bit of work but i'd rather spend the cash on other hobbies for a while :nice:

Cheers

this photo....so good.

Car looks stunning, i am thinking of selling mine but that makes me think twice.

Well done on breaking the sub 60sec :nice:

hate seeing your m3 because everytime i do i want to sell the dc5 for one

looks killer, seems like you have it dialed in nicely

Was good to finally meet you, car looked and sounded pretty damn good. I have some videos but the size is far too big to upload so i'm not sure what i'm going to do there.

Hopefully next time i'll actually have one of my cars ready to take on track

Cheers guys

Been following your build on cutters, did the rad setup help cooling? Im in the market for a e46 and i want to invest in sum preventative modifications. I will be running it at the ring and uk tracks like my 9.

Awesome setup btw, was the csl brake upgrade worth doing. Or should i go straight for a bbk.

cooling mod works perfect, we've done the same to my mates E46 M3 and again works fine, he is just running the OE radiator also

BBK is the way to go for sure, CSL upgrade isn't worth the time or money - still leaves you with a soft pedal feel due to the deflection in the slider pins. All the BBK use a wider and bigger disc so it's a no brainer

BUT

make sure you do something about the brake cooling, I have some hard motorsports back plates to plumb in some cooling to the bells of the discs to help with this

car is now in storage for the forseeable, just going to take a back seat for a while :(

So the fan is the main problem blocking air flow? As i know you removed the shroud. Ok ill look into cooling ducts.

What wheel are you running, is it a retrimmed alcantara standard wheel oe a motorsport item. Sorry for all the questions but its all in the details and really ocd about stuff. As are you it seems! Car looks brilliant and i bet you cant wait until next season

car won't be back on the road next year I don't think

diff is ******
i have an E36 evo diff to go in (fixed rather than variable lock)
800 quid to get the E36 diff machined with extra plates and all fitted to the E46 casing

then rear brake pipes are worth doing while exhaust is off for the diff
may as well do clutch and flywheel while i'm under there........

all adds up and i'd rather wait and do it proper when I have the spare £££ and time

but yes, mostly the air being blocked! the steering wheel was trimmed by Royal Steering :)

Ah ok thats a bummer. I know what you mean though. Do it once, do it right. Make it bullet proof so you can have sum fun in it.

Ill look into fan upgrades etc soon and replacing the cooling components as i know there naff plastic parts.

Thanks again, Dan
