Following on from Gav's thread......

At knockhill Thursday night, only thing that passed me was a Ferrari 458

Video from the night - once i get a fixed driver seat and some more time on track should hopefully see closer to 60s laps (best of the night was about 62s)

just picked these up on ebay for a bit of a steal, should keep me out the centre console / off the doorcard come Germany :nerv:

Nice video man, seems like there was some serious cars there. Smooth driving and the power from the M3 seems effortless :drive:

that looks fast in that video!!

ahh i was looking at those SPA's :( ha

Awsome, the M3 seats are the weight of a person so you will definitally be shifting with the fixed buckets

What lap times did you manage around there in your EK9? I have passed E46 M3s on the track in my Civic but they were closer to standard than yours and probably not being drove as hard

best in the EK9 with a B16B was about 64s, maybe edging on 63 but that was after 300 laps of practice

i have a good video of me nudging a caged out E46 m3 round the ring (which i then passed after bruncheon) but i don't understand that as i know the m3 is a much faster car!!

with the fixed seats i should get a better idea of what the car is doing, one of the points i felt it most was trying to left foot brake to settle the car after the right hander before the chicane - hard to do whan you are also trying to brace yourself against the centre console with your leg!!! haha

Did you use Khumo v70 as well Steven?

yeah, v70's in 265/35/18 all round, hard compound :nice:

LOVE IT! Very nice buddy!

Driving style has changed somewhat! Very smooth!

I think it all comes down to the fact that its very easy to drive a little fwd Honda on the limit compared to the likes of an E46 M3!! My E46 M3 was the most powerfull feeling N/A car that I have been in and thats even with the long gears that they seem to have and full weight! They really get going after around 90mph :naughty:

The M3 can really catch you out sometimes with 340+ BHP to the rear wheels but they have very responsive steering imo to sort it out

At least you have a more challenging car on the track now to have fun with, but im sure deep down you would love a few laps in your old EK9 again

Ah i wondered what compund you were using, i had soft thinking the difference wouldn't have been to big, they lasted less than two hours on soft. Should've done my homework.

looking good steven, you getting different exhaust or have you done that already?

cheers guys!

looking good steven, you getting different exhaust or have you done that already?

exhaust will be staying standard, for track vids i should probably fold the rear seats down as you get so much more note in the car!! future plans include......

- recaro SPA's (on the way, will re-cover them eventually so they are mint)
- macht schnell floor mounts / recaro sliders & sidemounts (on the way to fit the seats)
- genuine CSL bootlid (on the way)

all that should be fitted in time for Germany in August, will do another alignment check, change the plugs and oil + bleed the brakes again before i head off

over next winter i will investigate fitting a carbon airbox for some extra noise + a few more horses, also a lightweight flywheel and new oem clutch

don't plan on caging the car tbh, just tidy up some areas and get it as mint as possible but at the same time keep it well serviced and prime for some abuse :)

Looking good stevey!! Meh, you cant really compare your M3 to a wee Ek9 on such a small track man - seriously. Just wait till the ring and you've got more experience in it... offt, i can only imagine! :naughty:

What bhp and torque is your M3?

I love the video! ACE buddy.

Cheers :)

Totally standard power wise, meant to be 340bhp out the factory, unsure what torque they produce!!

:))

343 PS (252 kW; 338 hp) @ 7900 rpm
Torque: 365 N·m (269 lb·ft) @ 4900 rpm

Looks good mate!

How does it compare to the EK9? Obviously a completely different animal but was just wondering how much more quicker :))

Been looking at M3's for a while now ;)
