EJ6 - EK4 - EK9 thread.

I've seen on the internet, and in other USA forums, including online race shops they refer to the EJ6 Civic as a EK - EK4 civic, some EJ6 owners even say they own a ek9 or a ek4...

So, my question is, did the EK4 "model" arrived to the USA ?? or all of them are EJ6 ?

EK4 I'm 100 % sure they're only avaibable in Europe / Asia right?

no ek in usa EVER! we only have ej6 the closest thing we had was an em1
 
People really get nitpicky on specifics with chassis codes, but the term EK in the US is just slang for the 6th gen, 96-00 civic. If we called it EJ it could get confused with the 5th generation (commonly called EG) civic.
Most people don't refer to their US civic as an ek4 (unless they have a full Si-R conversion and are proud of it) but many people refer to their ej6 as an ek9.
This is common and its just misinformation on their part.
 
Oh I see, I posted some replys on videos youtube.com telling hey thats not a ek9 since the title say for example ek9 turbo, my ek9 etc and it was a ej6, like 2 days later or I get insulted lol or they tell me, if it's not a ek9 it is way faster lol. I usually get insulted when I reply and say, thats not a ek9 , only honda made ek9s :lol:
 
Yeah you shouldn't bother dealing with people who are ignorant and stupid, its not worth your time.
They don't realize that the term ek9 is the chassis code specific to to the 96-00 civic type r, and they just think their car is an ek9 too. When they say their car is much faster they may be right on the dragstrip, but if they knew enough about suspension tuning for their car to be faster than an ek9 on a road course they wouldn't have gotten the chassis code mixed up in the first place.

Yeah ive seen your youtube comments. Im the one insulting you! Hahahaha. Nah im playing bro, i too have posted that its not an ek9 and they reply with yes it is or your stupid. People just are ignorant about it. Theyre morons what can i say.
 
eg6 (B16A), ek4 (B16A), ek9 (B16B), what is the chassis code for the 96-00 civic sedean (B16A) anyone know?

would it be ek4 aswell..?
