So i tried my mates OZ ultraleggers with slicks on at the weekend and now...i need a set :naughty:

So... this is the plan over the next couple of days to modify this FN2 seat/rail to fit into my ej9. Now i know that they weigh a ton but at the minute this will have to do as im a big chap this will suite me much better until i get a L/XL bucket seat.

Its cost me nothing as i swapped my cobra imola2 seat for it score if you ask me!

Plus the car it came out of only had 40k on it so its basically brand spank!

Has anyone fitted one of these to there ej or ek before?

Let me know what yous think

Very clean condition seats mate! never fitted them so I don't know, but I know EP3 seats are a very common choice too. I would assume similar fitment? but I'm not sure on FN2

Yeah its not a very common mod purely because of the weight. I like the ep3 seats but they dont really hug you as such.

So basically this is how the rail sits. I was thinking of cutting and welding the rail to the right angle.
But what ill do is make a bracket to the correct angle. Saves destroying the rails. And the rear of the rails sit flush to the floor so my plans is to drill through the floor and reinforcing underneath and nut and bolt through. Then wack some paint on to stop any rust.

Tbh i could probably cut and bend the brackets to suite but i feel like that will weaken the rail?

As a fabricator by trade, I would suggest making some brackets/adaptors rather than bending/cutting the rails.

Not only from an integral point of view but also from a sales point, you can then sell the seats on with no issues.

Brackets wont be hard to make for that as as long as you make them from study material you'll be fine, as you will be with bolts securing the two parts

If this is permanent install, your going to want to get a bit of a brace/web put on them to stop them from bending in the event of an impact
because trust me, that 3mm steel sheet will bend and just trough you getting in and out or accelerating/braking it is likely it will continually move and eventually sheer without a brace welded in

Yeah mate im going to drill and reinforce the back of the rails then the fronts will be coming off for webbing welded then paint.

Gave the car a going over with some quick detailer today. Found a little gem in asda today Honda city turbo hot wheels car. Also fixed my leaking exhaust fitted new hangers.

Been meaning to wire these up for a while now so Wired up my guages yesterday i will be swapping out the Air/fuel dial for oil temp eventually.

Just need a sandwich plate to run the sensors.

Some of you may know about what happened to my car when someone broke in and tried to steal it. this left it a bit of a mess so... i had some 5mm lexan laying about so used that to replace the broken window but made a poor job of it tbh...so today i made a fresh set but using 3mm lexan and black rivets for a cleaner look.

Been a while since updating! So heres whats went on.
Wrapped my centre console to match the door cards. Bought a replacement arch still need drivers side. Started painting the interior plastics. Changed my dials to white.

Ive always loved painting and always wanted to try and paint with a HVLP and compressor so bought a 50ltr 9.6CFM and luckily for me a friend let me spray his ep3, rollcage, harness bar, Xbrace and his supercharger and intake job came out pretty good considering ive never used a gun before.

this has given me a good practice and confidence with the gun. So with me liking to try and do everything myself i will be respraying my civic (hence new arch panels) in LY123 nardo grey. Prep starts june.

All painted in 2K direct gloss. Polished the jackson supercharger logo just for that extra touch. Come out like new.

If anyone has experience in painting let me know what you think and any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated!
