i did a search but it was useless
but i want to know from ej9 owners what sort of mileage they are getting from a full tank of petrol

im only getting 220 miles per £40 or so and from a 1.4 thats **** all i think so i wanted to know what you get, thanks
 
Sounds pretty shite mate, I get 250 on a bad tank and anywhere from 300-380 on a good one, and thats in a DC2.

Got any sticky calipers? Thermostat stuck open? O2 sensor needs changing?

shouldnt have sticky calipers. shouldnt be the theromostat. my mate said it it might be 02 sensor aswell so should get it checked out
 
Mattharvey12 thats definitely poor mate. If your can pushes ok so no sticking brakes I would change the thermostat for a start as the temp gauge can put on a pretty good show of being ok when the thermostat is knackered and its only £20 from Honda. Look at Saint Matts guide on how to and its even easier on an EJ9..

When did you last change your thermostat ?
 
£40 lasts me a bit over a month. When I go for long journeys I get around 30MPG. I am very light on the throttle though.
 
i get about 300 - 40 pound. thats with a ek9 inlet manifold, throttle body, distributer etc..... sometimes its worse
 
havent got a ej but recently had terrible mpg in my b16a.. had a look at the distributer and the contact points wer nearly gone! got new dizzy cap, rotor and NGK leads and im now getting over 33mpg and thats with using the tec regulary.

just a idea
 
looks like ill be buying a thermostat and an 02 sensor if i need one

I am getting about 280 per full tank [28mpg] in my EJ8 coupe B18C-R.
im on it more that I should be tho...can help myself.
 
I get like 180 miles to just over £30, its actual shite

Of course the search brought back zero results, your searching on the wrong damn forum for one :)

I managed 300+ miles from my old EJ9 and EK3.

So something is up with yours, things to check from the top of my head; Fuel filter, 02 sensor air filter.
 
depends how you drive it IMO, and standard exhaust makes a big diff if you wana save fuel.
 
I've been calculating my milage these past few weeks.

I put about 20 litres of vpower in at a time. And get about 150 on the windy roads with my bike in the boot, and about 180 in the town at rush hour.

So between 30-40 mpg.

However, my car is shagged, so you should easily get more than this.
 
its my lambda sensor, its ****ed lol
cleaned it in lemon juice and managed to get 390 miles out of it but all of it was motorway driving and 2 laps on the ring
 
how did you take it off Matt is it a simple unbolt job??

i might have to have a look at this myself, i've just calculated my mpg and its not good at all :|

Looks like im going to need to change my thermo, fuel filter and Lamba sensor *Gulp:(
