EK Civic trailer length

Hey guys,

I've just got rid of my 16 foot (bed) trailer, it was far to long for a civic EK. The car looked lost on there and when coupled to a van the rig was getting on for lorry size.

I'm sure there must be a few people on here that have trailer or rent trailers for there cars.

How long are the trailers you guys use ?

We use a 16ft Brian James tilt bed trailer, we used to have a 14ft but as we take rally cars on them like evos, subarus escorts etc we needed the extra 2 foot...
 
Was it perfect for the 14 foot ?

I'm not very familiar with what your allowed to have over hanging or anything. Is there anyway you'd get away with a 12 foot trailer, or is it 13.5 foot at minimum ?
 
I have a 13ft Ifor Williams trailer, model ct136. Absolute perfect for the crx.
 
I have a 13ft Brian James Clubman.

I had to widen it from 170 to 173cm due to camber on the Civic making it wider. Lol.
 
My problem is that i sold the last trailer, because it was far to long and industrial for a little civic. Sold it for a fairly healthy £850.

Now im browsing online looking at the second hand options, and all of the trailers around the £1200 mark look like sheds, the next option is to raise the second hand budget to £1500. I feel like by the time ive done this i might as well buy a brand new one for around 2 grand.

Bearing in mind the expense is split between me and my team mate. so £600 a head gets us something brand spanking new.

In an ideal world id find something 13ft/14 foot that was an ex demo, just done a few laps round the block, which would have no VAT on it.

I bought a Brian James Clubman - its about 13ft, and is perfect. Thanks for all your help :D
