Hi guys,

I'm going to get polycarbonate windows, to save some weight and also because they are safer in case of a crash. Just wanted to see if anyone is selling any second hand before I order new! Interested in all EK windows bar the windscreen. Thanks!

If you crash, and your car doors are stuck and there's a fire, you're pretty screwed.

I've crashed twice in my life and in both cases I left the car through the hole left by the shattered windscreen. If the impact is so severe that despite the roll cage the car gets so mangled the doors wouldn't open then A) The windscreen is probably gone B) I might well be dead anyway.

Yes road legal. its the 5 piece kit so all side windows and rear.

5pc KIT,BORDERS+SLIDER EK 3D

2 kits in stock. £375

Are these Margard protected or just plain polycarbonate? Would you be able to supply the rear window on its own? Also - what is the thickness? Thanks

Its all part of a kit so cannot split sorry...

You still haven't answered my other 2 questions - is it just plain Lexan or does it have any protective coating and what is the thickness? MSA approved would be minimum of 4mm, FIA is 5mm...

"Our lightweight windscreens are manufactured from 5 or 6mm high grade motorsport quality scratch resistant Lexan. Combined with slow forming cycles to give the driver the best possible clarity. All our windscreens are fully thermoformed and match the curvature of the stock glass for an easy and aerodynamic fit"

I only want one! I'm not paying for someone else's too!! What's the best price shipped?

Hmmm, not sure what you mean by "scratch resistant" Lexan, normal Lexan is far from scratch resistant - you need special coating like Margard. But Margard cannot be used for thermoformed stuff so I guess that's not what you use. There are however other options (Peerguard) do allow thermoforming.

Also interested, front two need to have some sort of coating for me to be interested. The rear three not too bothered about.
