Been looking for some info on this but couldn't find much of what I was looking for.

Things that I have found are:

Spring Rates: F/R in lbs
EJ6 - 160/80
EM1 - 201/100 (99.8)
EK9 - 240/240 (250/250 from what I've been reading are the DC2 Spring Rates)

& Obviously the EK9 has Proper Struts to match the Springs.

I was wondering if and how much the EK9 Springs were lower than Standard Springs found on an EK4 or EJ6? I believe I read somewhere that the EK9 Springs were lower than Standard but don't recall what the values/figures were.

i believe ek9 suspension is around 20mm lower that the vti's. pretty sure this has been covered before...

Sorry if it was. I searched here, HT, SH, and many other sites. I did find one post on HT stating a 20mm drop but it also said something about Spoon springs so I wasn't sure if he was talking about the Stock EK9 springs or the Spoon springs for the EK9.

But from what I've been reading it's a subtle drop somewhere in the .75" - 20mm range. Decent drop for what I'm looking for.

well according to this the ground clearance between the ek4 and ek9 is 1mm, but I've also read that the height difference between the two is a mere 10mm(ek9 being lower)

on that note though.. if spoon springs were to drop the ek9 20mm does that mean it would drop 30mm for the other ek's?

I have the Spoons on my EK4, it is the same height as my friends EK9 with he same springs so I guess if mine was 10mm higher to begin with then yes it would have lowered it by 10mm more to end up at the same height as the 9.

Manufacturers rarely alter the ride height more than 20mm between base and cooking models, so 10-15mm would sound about right in this case.

Thanks for the help guys. Planning out WAY ahead before I even purchase the EM1...

The ek9 springs lower the car 15mm and the spring rates are
front->4.3kgf/mm
rear ->4.2kgf/mm
and shocks damping force (0.3m / s at) are:
front->245/161kgf
rear ->97/55kgf

The VTI ek4 are correspondingly
3.8kgf/mm
2.2kgf/mm
146/94kgf
71/42kgf

When i compared my Ej9 springs and my brother's Ek4 springs, the Ek4 ones lower 15mm the Ej9.

EK9: 240/123-235 (Rear Dual Rate/Progressive)
EK4: 213/123

I have to say they have added ALOT of Turn-in to the EK9 over the EK4. Closer Spring Rate Split, Stiffer/Bigger Rear ARB, Spot/Seam Welded Rear Chassis. AMAZING!

Hmm, so a EM1 can even Benefit from EK4 Springs... Nice
