Hi, i just asked someone something about the civic ek9's 0-60 they said:

It's 6.8 from factory, 5.7 is when it was stripped out, with no air con/seats etc.

ALSO; click the link for more information. Click Heritage, then 1997.

am i wrong is it only 6.8 seconds to 60 or 5.7 :S

thats not correct, when i went to the track on november 2006, i was able to see for myself that my car achieve 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds - 6.0 seconds, and i was running with a/c p/s and recaro seats, like i said to you in the other thread, this can be done when you run your car at sea level.

Anyways, every car is different, it all depends on the health of your engine / driiving conditions etc.. :nice:

but this was on the official honda site.. could it be.. honda is dumbing down the older engines specs.. so people think the new ones are much better.. oh also anotehr question..

on a drag strip could the EK9 Beat the new 2.0i 0-60 = 6.6 second Civic Type R... in my head it should be able to?

Nope, you cant compare a 1600 cc to a 2000 cc one, i think this one has 250 hp not sure about the torque, + weights a lot more that the ek9.

You can reach the 60 mph faster in the ek9, but the 2000 cc will be faster at the top end :nice:

i'll believe more from an actual ek9 owner than a copy / paste site!

Only comptech race exaust! :nice:

I did a 1/4 mile time of 15.3 :(

It seems quite strange to me. Stock EK9 civic makes 0- 100 km/h in 7.0 sec whereas EK9 Integra makes it in 6.8. These are the official specs of the cars. And I don't think that even the highest quality exhaust standalone can drop so low the numbers. Perhaps you have something that you are not aware of !!:)

Yea, sorry. consfused. Have you check you car in case you run something you don't know?

my ek9 has been timed 0-60 in 6.1 seconds its 197bhp with intake and full exhaust mods it still has back seats in and the air con ,power steering etc ,in effect noting has been stripped off ,its also quicker then my friends uk 2.0
EP3 civic type r his has a full exhaust, intake and remap and has been dynoed @ 245 bhp but once it gets to about 80-90 mph he starts to go past me ,the 5.7 0-60 time was set in japan in a ek9 civic type r N1 edition which had no rear seats, no air con,no power steering, lighter smaller front seats, lighter plastic steering wheel ,and the driver doing the test weighed about 110 lb's lol:)

So it is logical for the stock EK9 to do 0-100 km/h in about 7 secs. That's what I have said before. There is no way a racing exhaust standalone to drop the time more than 0.2 - 0.3 sec.

i really dont have an exact number, i remember putting and approximate in another thread..

I will give you an example how a car is affected by track conditions.

In my country we have a 1/8 mile track, and a 1/4 mile track.

The 1/8 mile one is 1900 meters above sea level.

The 1/4 mile track is 80 meteres above sea level.

My 1/8 mile time in the 1900 meters above sea level track was 10.52. One week later i went to the 1/4 mile track that its at 80 meters above sea level, and my time was 9.92 in the 1/8 mile distance.

This times were not taken by a gtech or something, they were taken with the track computer + sensors.

Since we have users from around the world, the times will be different for everyone. :nice:

Ok i found my time slip that day at the 1/4 mile track:

Check out this numbres:

330 FEET
TIME 6.547
MPH 72.23

:D

Anyone good with math? so i can now my 0 - 60 mph time ? lol

hmm.. starting to get a bit unimpressed now lol.. all those websites are like 0-60 in 5.7 standard!! but its a lie then eh? hmm.. if its 6.8..

Now you make a big mistake here. :). If what you mean is that 6.8 is bad for a 1.6 L N/A engine then your wrong. And without a single mod as well. Instead, you should be impressed bro. As I told you in an other post, EK9 is not a ferrari, but an excellent compromise for someone who cannot afford $400.000 to by an F430 but a very, really very, cheap racing car. Since you have never driven an EK9, you should make no hasty assumpions based on the numbers. By the way, stock 0-60 is: 6.8 for EK9, 6.7 for DC2, and 7.4 for EK4(newest version of 170 hp)

Man get the figures right lol it is -

0-60mph : 5.7 seconds, my uk sir vti's and my SiR's all did it also in under 6 seconds

jamie, you have to remember that it's a 1600 cc n/a in it's class i would say it's the fastest 1600 cc n/a car ever made. Remeber that mitsubishi build the "cyborg" to compete against this car, the car had a 1600 cc n/a mivec engine...

But the car became a rival, but for the EK4 ehehehe, :D
