ek9 auction report - really stuck!

Right im really stuck here, i have two possible cars i can buy, one is a 97 model and one is a rx model, neither have an auction report, the rx model ONLY has the export certificate the other one (97 model) has cambelt change etc.

Im more interest in the rx model but the fact it hasnt been registered,no auction report, or service history worries me.

I know you all say use your own initiative when viewing the car, but i will have to get a plane down south, view it, and if there is something wrong come back.

The RX model LOOKS clean inside and out, but what do you all think?
 
I think when cars are bought from Japanese dealers direct they might not have an auction report. (Double check on that, not too sure myself).

If the car only has export certificate, MAKE SURE you've got a customs clearance form too, to prove that Import/Duty tax has been paid on the car.

Are you from UK?

I think with the rx model, you'll need to get it SVA tested. ANd when you come to register the car, you'll need to provide DVLA - SVA Certificate, MOT, Insurance and Export/Customs Clearance form.

Do you have any links where we can see the car you're interested in? Is it a trader or an Auction house?

I bought my EK4 civic without service history and it runs like a glory! And I needed to register/MOT the car too.

Best thing to do, is go and see the cars for yourself if you can and do your own inspection on it and then decide!
 
Where are you from matey? I suppose it could be an expensive waste of time of you get there and somthing isnt right!

Thats the dilemma that im in im from Glasgow so going to Swansea to view a car isnt somthing i can do in one day!

Im just in a dilemna, i dont have time to have an importer import me one, i need a car fast, but im not rushing into buying one.

im going to buy one within the next two weeks, so having an importer import me one isnt an option, unfortunatly.

If I were you, I would test drive the car, make sure ALL documents are present and check the car condition out (int/ext).

There's tegiwa and type-r dunk who sell on this forum. Have you checked there stock out?
 
yes i ended it.

I have, but there isnt much i like, tegiwa have a car with 100,000miles on it, 6350, but im not looking for a high mileage car, despite what people say about how long these cars can run for.

Ah i see, not far atall im over in the southside near where the Silverburn shopping centre has just been built!

Ill be honest mate if it was me id get an importer that has the Auction report,1. For piece of mind and 2. Your buying a car from someone who owned it 12,000 miles away!
Alright 8/10 of the 9's that touch down here are usually excellent but if i was investing 6-7k on a car abroad id leave it in the capable hands of someone in the know!

I know your dilemma 2 well, there isnt an importer south of carlisle! well not any of the ones ive found!

ah! I used to live in newton mearns!!!

Went to mearns high school if you know it?

Who do you recommend, i just dont have alot of time, im driving an x5 and its a killer on petrol!

i have about 6500 right now to spend, and if i got someone to import for me by time its here about 8500.

i know! Andy at 200bhp cars!!!!
