EK9 buy back??

My EK9 was involved in an accident 2-3 weeks ago (not my fault). I have now received a letter saying that it is going to be written off. Does anyone know how I can buy back my EK9 as I want to break it and sell for spares?

Ask you insurance company for 2 figures one with the car returned and one without. Not all insurance companies allow you to keep the car, but always worth a try. Oh and more than likely unless you are on an agreed value policy the first offer will be on the low side and you will need to be ready to say why you think its on the low side.

I've been offered a value of £5500 which is more than fair in my view. But the thing is, is that I went through a solicitors which someone recommended to me. Would this make any difference? I can't get in touch with them until after the Bank Holiday, but I'll be asking as soon as I can.

na it shouldnt make a difference who dealt with it as you are the policy holder and gave the solicitors the right to act on your behalf etc.
but as said earlier you need to ask them for two figures..my old ones wouldnt let me buy it back as all their cars got shipped to auction.

Thank you for your helps. I've emailed my solicitors telling them what I want to do and am just waiting for a reply...probably won't be until Tuesday now though
