I always wonder, whats the benefits of having this bar? less chassis roll ? body rigidity ?

I drove a EK4 today, and the difference was very noticeable the handling is very different compared to the EK9.

What do you think of this oem bar? :woot:

i think its to increase the rigidty of the chassis.... itr also hve a similar. However its in the interior, seen when you open the boot lid.

i think it is an impact bar myself!
i cant see how this would increase rigidty of the chassis, not on the outside of the chassis!
if was on the inside like you say on the itr then yes but i dont think this is!

I may be wrong though!:angry2:

it might be for weight reduction? its a lot smaller compared to the US market bumper bar.

I think is not there for adjusting the weight (force) distributed when cornering like the bar under the hood above the engine..........because its paraller to the length of the car and has no effect. If it was vertical then I would say its there to improve the handling

I'm thinking-
When making the japan only ek9, they didn't want to have the added weight of a large rear bumper bar, but the rear bumper does add some chassis rigidity just because it ties 2 points of the chassis together. So they added a very light yet rigid bar simply because it helps to tie things together, and the provisions were there for it already.

its for additional rigidity but many extra components as a combination on an
ek9 makes overall rigidity/handling better
