EK9 Nurburgring BTG Times

Didnt know whether to post this in the racing section or not.

Just curious as to what times people are getting bridge to gantry over at the nurburgring?
If your car is modded if you wouldnt mind saying so.

Always been after an ek9 and eventually got round to putting my saxo back to standard, although al miss it, and selling it to get a faster car straight out the box standard, well so i hope.

This isnt about bragging just dont exactly want to be going slower :((

To be honest I wouldn't worry about Ring times as they mean so little due to event beyond your control e.g traffic as you mentioned. I see the Nurburgring as just a really nice drivers road with no speed limit and just to enjoy the drive and not worry about speed camera's police or times really as I think is not worth the risk pushing to hard on such a large technical track. If you want to go for times you would be better of comparing lap times from a smaller race circuits back here in the UK. I hope to get the chance to do both soon.

Just my opinion and I havent actually been so I may be talking rubbish (awaits flaming).

nothing to get flamed about :nice:
was just curious to what sort of times people were getting, as there will be members out there who push it i guess?? lol

Obviously comes down to driving etc but just a rough idea. Dont want to sell a car to go slower lol which i doubt the ek would be slower.

I would guess a Modded EK9 would do it in the 8's, but it all depends on how modded the EK9 is really, different displacement etc etc

Reason i am going in April, 1stly i have always dreamed of going there, now have the right car to do so, gain more confidence around bends, knowing what sort of limit to push it to, and want a framed picture of my EK9 at the ring :D

I'm not gonna push my car 100% to the limit when i go, but try and improve each corner on the next lap to come and conquer/master the APEX....

A EK9 is so fun to drive, theres so much potential ;)

only drove one for litteraly 5minutes ages ago, felt alot better/fun to drive in standard form.
Main reason i sold up was i got sick of messing on with the car i have. So want something to go out the box really.

Will uprate pads and discs for track, probably stick some R888's on.
And thats it really, cant be bothered messing on changing shocks springs, calipers etc this time round lol

Reason i asked for BTG times was i dont have my times lying around from croft, rockingham, knockhill anymore to compare.
And never seen an EK9 on track when i have been there :wow:

You will love it when you are there, i have only been 3 times.... Its a fair trek from the NE of england, takes me longer to get to dover, than it does from Dunquirk (sp) to Adenau
 
Best timed from BTG was 9mins 33secs. Have had faster laps through more experience and less traffic but not timed them.
 
Why don't you come along to the EK9.org Nurburgring trip?? could be a passenger in my EK9 ;)

Al be back over there in may around the bank holiday next year :D
 
Mate managed 8:04 in his E46 m3 with only upgraded brakes and R888 tyres, he's some pilot though :woot:
 
Did a 8:50 BTG in my 9 weekend just gone. Thats with BC coilovers 8 / 5 spring rates, Spoon calipers with ebc yellow stuff standard disks. Standard b16b. No uprated camber kits still on oem. On yoko advan n ad08 tyres. It struggles on the uphill naff all tourqe lol. Could not get out of 4th gear up there!
 
i went round as a passenger in roughly 9.05 seconds...in an Old MB6 on bouncy lowering springs.

When i went with ek9.org earlier in the year we took a totally stock UK dc2. It performed superbly and i was really surprised how well a stock 122k mile car could be. 2 up with shopping and bags in boot we did about 9:30 - 9:45.

Good to know! thinking of getting a dc2 as my next car :)
 
Aiming for sub 8.30 next year, best this year was about 8:50 with some traffic
