I have always wanted to get a honda but never had the money. I was looking at maybe getting a joran edition civic until I found out about the world of JDM!! Could someone help me with what the differences are between the ek9 and jordan edition civic? for example Does the jordan use a b16a etc?
great site :nice:

Jordans a yellow VTI basically, so yeah, B16A 158hp?

The ek9 is lighter has better handling brakes and more power! The jordan civic has a yellow and black leather interior while the ek9 has red carpets, door trim, and recaro seats along with carbon effect interior trim! The ek9 is a much better buy...

You wouldnt have thought that the Jordan was £16,850 when they were first new in 1999, There was one on Pistonheaads.com recently it only had 3,800 miles on it and the guy wanted £9,999 it sold so i think he got that for it!

Theres a website for the Jordans aswell cant remember what its called though its pretty cool cause i think there are 350 odd members, and a big list which shows how many have been written off! Thats pretty good considering there were only ever 500 built.......

if you find the link for that site... mind posting it? Would not mind hving a look :)

the only thing thats the same is the shell really lol. at the end of the day a jordan is just a vti. not a patch on the ek9 if u were to drive both u would not beleive diference. ek9 feels very tight

the only thing i can think of saying is its like comparing a 106 quicksilver with a Rallye.lol

go for the EK9 mate..althoguh the jordan was limited i have seen so many more than i have ek9s..plus the ek9 is just a ridiculously better car all round.

plus the jordan has possibly the worst interior i have ever seen!

as people heve said jordan is yellow vti with some stickers and some leather.

best way i can describe an ek9 is a smaller version of a dc2 integra type R!

ek9's are aswesome cars but if we all had them it would be a boring world. The web site is www.civicjordan.co.uk even tho i got a jordan i would still say get a ek9 if u can afford to buy one and the insurance. The lad who had his up for £9,999 had fully rebuilt it with a 220bhp 1.8 type r lump, with some really nice mods and a ful respray. Didint like his smooth boot tho. It had done 3k miles since the rebuild.

a jordan is a vti wit some yellow slapped on it...if u want a yellow civic buy a yellow ek9 much nicer lookin better handlin an faster an lighter a much better buy if u ask me.

Jesus you guys are desrcibing the Jordan like the anti-christ!

If i can say first of all the Jordan is a great car, its a Honda its never going to break.
Honda have manufactured 6,000,000 VTEC units and not one has failed theres not many cars out there that have a reputation like Hondas.

Its a 1600cc 4 Cylinder @ 160bhp, ok it aint a EK9 but thats bloody good performance from a 1600cc! Second off, it does 0-60 in 7.6, and will do 140mph(on a track)

A 325i BMW would think twice!

I like the Jordan as it stands out, although i do prefer the 9 thats down to personal opinion!

Its up to you my friend dependant on age and experience and because the Jordan isnt an import i would say its up to you as the 9 will be dearer to insure!

ye you are correct on the insurance i suppose but no ones really against the jordan. Just pointing out that comparing the 2 is pointless as the jordan is essentially just a vti. And some people want the same money for one as some ek9s.

None of us would disagree with your comment about the engine and performance though. As usual from a 1.6 its amazing.

Yeah ur spot on mate the Jordans have retained there value really well for being nearly 10 years old however people tend to steer away from the "import market" as they think its a big scam and all the rest of it, not until you look into it do you see the real ins and outs!

Lets face it the Japs make the best cars!

Theres nothing quite like depreciation from the UK market! You can guarantee that unless the car you are buying has a waiting list of more than 12 months (ie RS4, R8, M3, Lex ISF-S) and so on then you can pretty much guarntee that the minsute you drive it off the forecourt itll be worth £1000 less easily!

There building more cars than the market can afford to keep up!

You can have the best of both worlds like me i have a ek9 in yellow 99

so i got the colour and the performance of a CTR

it might be up for sale soon if you are interested send me a message

i owned a jordan 2 years ago, and it was, still is a very capable car. as said, its just a vti. ltd though :). i bought a jordan first due to insurance costs. my lil bro has just recently purcahed one also :)
camparing is pointless as said, as the ek9 is superior in every way.

I wouldnt say its pointless alright the 9 is considerabley faster yes but your making out like the Jordan is slow as a week in the jail!

Gee Whiz thanks for all the comments. There is a jordan local with a for sale sign in window for 3500. I would love an ek9 but it is the insurance and extra cost of purchase. Think i will just hold off the noo and get an ek9 when the funds are flowing freely.

I would be a bit cautious if it is only £3.5k. They go for more like £5.5k.
