I have a question for you guys? Im just wondering how can you tell if youre car is an EK9, EK4, EJ6 ...... because they all look the same. Is there something that you can see just to know what kind of car im driving, maybe a sticker on the side of the door or something? thanks in advance...!!!!

its in the vin number which should be on the firewall and on you windshield, should be the 5th digit or so, theres a thread on here that tells you what the vin means.

also the "vin number" its a the front of the car on the left side when you open the hood!

Don't trust the small blue plate on the lower left of the car, if you don't know anything about civics. To check what kind of engine you have: open the hood and check for the engraved engine number which is located on the lower left part of the engine. For Type R, then, you will see a "B16B", for SIR "B16A",.......... Sure thing!

sorry to say this, but im just asking what kind of chassis I have.... not the engine....:) because EK9 is the chassis code, and there's some EK4, EJ6 but the thing is, they all have the same body...:( well I know my car is not an EK9 (because they didn't release it on Canada) so I can't figure it out what chassis do I have... well thanks anyway for the help. ;)

tell me the first 9 or so digits of your vin and ill tell you what it is.

Ok then...Well....I think there is no other "formal" indication about your chassis type except the blue plate i've told you before, which is however not a guaranty. :nerv: EK9 chassis is a complete racing package. Check for: recaro seats, racing steering wheel(and response), red floor color, racing supspension(stiff), rear ABS, are some thinks to have in mind. To check for EK4 is more difficult since the interior does not differ at all from the cheapest civic around. However you can check for rear ABS, and good suspension grip. For other types don't feel so anxious. Both EK4 and EK9 have that cross bar above the engine for better allocation of the forces exerted at each side of the car when cornering:cool:. I hope I have helped you a bit.

Even though my country is one of the smallest members of the EU and it is considered to be The country of EKs, still noone managed to convince me why to install a lightened flywheel.:angry2: I've heart a lot of people here saying that it does not increase the torque, but it reduces the rotating mass of the crankshaft, therefore better acceleration which is what an EK lacks of. Howerver I also heart that it has severe sideffects like drivability problems, vibrations, also the better the rpm go up, the same way drop abruptly, hence the car becomes not suitable for daily use in the traffic. I'm desperate to get valid information about this issue, and if somone has something to say based on his own experience, then it would be better for me:bow:
