EK9 painted thin side moldings vs SiR unpainted side moldings

I just bought a set of EDM EK hatchback thin side moldings (unpainted). I noticed that the moldings have a very wrinkly texture to it. My body shop just called me and warned me that this texture is not meant to be painted because the paint-able ones are supposed to be smooth. He said he will paint it for me anyways but warns me that it will not look like the rest of the car. My question is: does the real EK9 Civic Type R thin side moldings have a smooth or wrinkly texture underneath it's paint?

Hi mate,
My original ones off the EK9 are textured. its a very light texture to them, i can get a picture tomorrow.
If i recall correct you can order them in black plastic (for non colour coded) or primer to be painted.
