EK9 Racecar

Took her to work today to do the headlight aims, both were too low and the nearside aim was miles to the right.
I was able to see where I was going on the way home

Annoyingly as soon as I pulled out the yard at work a stone got stuck between the OSF back plate and the disc :angry2:
So made a lovely screeching all the way home.
Everytime I take her out something usually goes wrong!
Hopefully Santa will bring me some car related goodies for Christmas.

Have a good Christmas everyone!

Cool , looks great too , the one I had there were two filters on the box one on top like yours and another underneath,
It was over kill for me ,but a nice rare part all the same.

Have a good Xmas to you too m8 ,
Again your bay is super looking keep up the
Good work !

Yeh my friend has one on top and one to the side. His is an ep3 / dc5 ARC.
I like it for the rarity too, would love a brand new one though!

Well all you need to do is polish it up and have it tip top ,
Be as good as new .

First update of the new year! Well a few things are happening. I got some Hel braided brake hoses for Xmas.

I have made a start fitting them, while ok doing that I'm re painting the arches with white stone chip using a Shultz gun. I bought a small compressor from screw fix, value for money it's spot on for at home.
I'm also painting the brakes while they're off.
And I suppose the biggest update really is that I have ordered a rear roll cage from GSM Performance! I didn't think it would happen I.e me wanting to track the car but things have changed. Not going full track build mode but you never know! Cage will be arriving in 4-5 weeks, which will be just before my first track day.

Also found video after I put the manifold and ARC on.

What cage did you go for?
It won't be long and you will have fixed back seats, harness, power steering and abs removed...

I know, I think you're probably right! I was looking at the abs earlier thinking that will be removed.

I found a company online called GSM Performance, Have you heard of them?
Gave them a call with a part number I found on their website for the cage and went from there. Just getting a rear cage with a harness bar at the moment. But they're also providing the mounts for a full roll cage that can be fitted to the rear cage (for future) if I decide to go full cage.
The cage is coming powder coated in black.
They also sent me a couple of stickers, can't beat a free sticker!

Yes I remember seeing their website when I was searching for some seats a while back,
Is it a safety devices cage then?
Possibly the same as mine, if so then they're a very snug fit!

Yes sorry it's a safety devices cage. Oh right, what's the best way to fit it then? Front seats out and in through the door?

Yeah I had seats out and was passed the bars etc through the boot then pieced together inside etc

Yeah I went in through the doors also,
You also get base plates with it you can weld in to reinforce the area where you bolt it down, otherwise your just bolting through 0.8 mm steel

That's good, I will definitely weld in the base plates. I can't wait to get the cage in!

Started paint prep on the calipers.
First soak in used brake fluid to loosen the paint.

Then scraped off the paint, a combination of wire wheel and dye grinder to get off the stubborn rust and paint.

Such a clean 9 man, and what you've done with the manifold is making me jealous, I'll need to get some elbow into mine and get it shiny again!
